May 16, 2006 - A forgotten classic from 2006, when the Yankees quickly find themselves down 9-0 and then 10-1, only to mount a insurmountable comeback featuring stellar performances by Derek Jeter and Jorge Posada, with Posada coming out the hero of this game after surviving a nasty collision at the plate with superstar Mark Teixeira.

My dad and I were sitting in the loge on the third base side at this game. I was 12 years old. He and I probably went to about 100 games when I was a kid and this one will always be my favorite. I’ll never forget hearing thousands of voices yelling “Hip hip, Jorge!” as we walked out through the corridors. Man I miss that old stadium.

Did you ever think about leaving the game early? You must have been so glad you didn't. I'm sure you saw many who did.

My dad was pretty adamant about never leaving a game early. He always told me this story about a game that he missed a great comeback because his friends wanted to leave to head into Manhattan and go shopping. I don’t think he ever left a game early after that. He was as die hard as they come. But you’re right, a lot of people left early that game.

I remember this game like yesterday. I was a Senior in High School, I lost my virginity that same night with my then girlfriend. The Yankees were getting pummeled 10-3 early and I told myself, meh, it will be one of those games I guess. I left the house to go to her house which was only a 5 minute walk. After finishing my romantic endeavors I walked back home, first thing I see walking back to my room is Jeter's 3 run bomb to make it 10-8. Then the come back was complete later that night. Memories....

My first ever Yankees game. Hooked ever since ❤ I was there with my Yankees-from-birth cousins, and I remember the boos in the 2nd. People leaving when we were 9-0, but there was no chance we were going anywhere for the next four hours. Simply amazing, and I got three fantastic photos of Posada's walk-off.

Jim Kaat was decent at calling the games (I watched every single game back in the day and he was the man for a while on the YES network), not sure the hate there; though, I will say Michael Kay is better and brings a lot of energy when making calls on big hits/plays.

We were sitting next to DJ’s GF in Box 1 behind HP. At the time $115 for a tix seemed to much to get up & leave. What a treat as a result. Best sport in the world because until recently had no clocks. ⚾️🔥 My pregnant wife answered a trivia math related question (aided by hubby) easy for an accountant diehard Yankee fan Gehrig times Mantle minus DiMaggio equals? Mattingly, which was our 2nd choice for a name of my princess that was born 9 exact months to the day.
