Just love the DBS, this era for Aston was just about perfect. The Vantage, DB9, DBS etc all just stunning looking cars, timeless elegance and more than enough grunt even for today's roads.... One day I hope to move up from my Vantage to the DBS but I'm not complaining

I have to say, I am really impressed with that car and Aston Martin. That was one of my favorite reviews by Jay and I agree with everything he said. I'm impressed by the quality of the car, and I'm really glad it has a true manual transmission and not sissy paddles. Then when you just throw in that amazing V12 it's a hell of a nice package. If I had the money I would definitely consider buying one after watching this video. When he started it up I almost had to change my pants.

Exactly. I've never met anyone who actually knows how to drive a manual transmission properly that doesn't prefer manuals. People always use the "heavy traffic" excuse for why they drive an automatic too, but manuals aren't nearly as bad in traffic as people say, provided you know what you're doing.

IgoByaGo Lol. Truth be told, I haven't seen the Aston Martin DBS in person. So my impressions of it is based upon what I see in pics and vids (which, of course, don't do most cars justice). But it just looks rather simple, from pics and vids. Still, most of my friends and acquaintances mention either it or the Aventador as the best looking sportscar they've ever seen. The truth is, there are lots of good looking sportscar on the market...so it's hard to tell which is the best looking. But, personally, I find the C7 Z06 to be amongst few sportscars on the market that looks great in just about every color. And I think that that speaks volume about its design.
@tmat048 жыл бұрын
Burim Emini But, I personally prefer my supercar to have that "low slung" stance. It makes the car look more exotic. And, the DBS doesn't quite match that category. Well, at least not based upon what I see from pics and vids. The C7 Z06, and especially the new Audi R8 V10 has that low slung stance. I just love that.

I had the pleasure of driving my friend's one. His was chipped to about 650Hp. A truly remarkable car and made me really dream of owning one, one day. Manual transmissions are great if that is what you prefer. With some underpowered cars you might want it. But with super cars it's no longer the way to go if you're thinking about performance. Double-clutch paddle shift is better. Faster shifts. If it works for F1 drivers... If manual transmissions were still THE way to go...Ferrari would only offer manual shifting, Nissan with their GTR, Porsche with their Turbo/S and GT3...etc. To each his own. The start sound is amazing. ROARS to life.

Ford's 5.9 L V12 version of its Duratec engine is used in the present Aston Martin lineup. It is best thought of as two 3.0 L Duratec V6s mated end to end, albeit with slightly larger main journals. The regular Aston Martin V12 uses roller rockers (RFF), and was designed by Ford and Cosworth. Cosworth assembled the V12 engines for a year before Aston Martin took over production. However, Cosworth still casts the heads and blocks. The variant used in the Aston Martin One-77 uses (DLC coated) DAMB cam followers like the later Duratec engines, and is built by Cosworth.
