100% correct. I got to test drive a Vanquish early summer 2020 and it does an excellent job like a Swiss army knife. It is so flexible it can be a GT, a track car or street bruiser. Its not the best in any of those but it is the best car that can do all 3. The Huracan is a blast to drive, but not for a 3 hour road trip. The Vanquish is brilliant for that and it will do well on a track day. I loved it.... just can not afford it :)

Both cars have their merits. It is not all about power but about the goosebumps when your are driving it. Shelby GT500 is an insanely great car - with or without money considerations. It feels connected to the brain and that clutch and short-throw shifter... delicious. It is a pity that Aston went the automatic transmission route and very few cars are delivered with manuals.

Jay is not shy about saying he does NOT like something... and his glowing review, with honesty says a lot. I also agree with him. LOL Also, in truth, the vast majority of people simply can't "drive" their cars to their fullest capability anyways. The actual performance and real world situations bring pretty much all exotics to so close in "stats" as they are ACTUALLY experienced by the driver that it comes down to other factors... like style, comfort, etc. And as Jay says, this is a car you can DRIVE, and USE, not simply own and take out once in a while to impress ... whoever.... and the older you get, the more you appreciate comfort. I love Jay's quote that "even people who aren't car people know this is something special". I'm usually not "car people" but I saw a white Vanquish pull up to the light next to me this morning in Brentwood TN (suburb of Nashville). I thought it was a Bentley at first, but then saw the AM wings and the Vanquish nameplate so I snapped a quick picture of it. What a beautiful piece of machinery - it purred away and made my day just to hear it drive off. I'm glad Jay shared this video so I could learn more about the car and the sophisticated experience of owning and driving one. Now, it ain't like driving my 2008 Toyota Sienna dad-mobile packed with 3 daughters, 3 of their friends, wife, dog, and wide selection of Barbie movies on demand, but I guess I'd take a Vanquish if someone twisted my arm :-)

I am new to your youtube channel Jay and I am enjoying it very much. I really like the color of this car. It reminds me of the color of a funny car I saw in the early 80's in a drag racing magazine. The drag racing car actually had this blue transitioning to black paint as it got closer to the ground. It was a stunning very modern looking car at the time. This Vanquish reminded me of that car. Huw Robinson I am a German, I have to agree and say that British cars are the best... but Rolls Royce (British) is owned by BMW (German). Bentley (British) is owned by perhaps the greatest Automobile Manufacturer ever, VW (German)... I could go on and on.. Land Rover (British) owned by Tata Motors, (Indian) the same with Jaguar (British), owned by Tata Motors (Indian). Aston Martin has also been taken over by Kuwaiti investors. As far as the best cars go, its still us, always has been us, and always will be us. Nothing surpasses German Engineering. Think about it, Bugatti, Mercedes Benz, BMW, Audi, Porsche.... Then as far as beauty and performance goes, its all about the Italians. I need to say no more than Ferrari, Lamborghini, Pagani... Just nothing better. +Beef Broth, allot of people mention the Ford fusion and for good reason, however anybody who knows Astons knows it's a classic Aston styling que taken from the DB5, DB6 and even the DB7 and the natural evolution of the Aston "look". It kind of cheapens Ford really & just makes them look like "that" Chinese sweatshop that churns out knock-off's making cheap imitations. They did the same copying a nissan SUV/4x4 years ago & have done it with the LR Discovery, which the Discovery's look is totally their own as that is the natural progression of styling. It's almost like the Ford design team has no creativity or identity in it's own brand so just copy's others.

European over American all the time. American cars are cheap plastic interiors much like Chinese and Korean vehicles. European car manufacturers especially Germans takes pride in what they do. It is not just a job to them it is their work and they do it above the standard required. a vanquish and a mustang are designed for different markets. ford could go the aston martin route and emphasize refinement much more but the cost would put their products out of the price range [and possibly the appeal] of the market theyre targeting...and the market that ford is targeting is drastically more profitable given the distribution of wealth in the world. in a business its about business before its about the pride of the automaker and this is why companies like aston martin and ferrari are much smaller and much less profitable than automakers like ford and toyota. id take a vanquish over any mustang any day but i can only afford the mustang and in the end its about whos pocket my money goes into

The Aston Martin was made famous with the movie Gold Finger in 1964,. I prefer that automobile for it's pure styling. It was a four cylinder, but fast for the day. It had the rear bullet proof steel rear slide up window for people who were chasing you and pissed off. Then there was the oil that shot out of the rear of the car, causing the chaser to crash and the machine gun head lights. But my all time favorite was the gear shift ejection seat pop up cap. Astonishing Aston Martin Vanquish! I love the color... It's sharp looks and its incredible design both on the interior and the exterior... Perfect color for me although I know for some people Aston Martin is supposed to look better on green or metallic grey or something... For me this is a perfect and one of a kind Aston Martin! EPIC!!! :)

Just for clarity for those interested and who don't actually know, the name on the plate in Aston's is for the person who performed the final inspection of the car, not the person who built it. They are responsible for the final quality assurance steps to identify any imperfections that need to be addressed before the vehicle can officially become an "Aston Martin" which is only done when it receives it's wing badges on the front and back.
