Just bought a 2005 two days ago. Was a lady owner and she died suddenly and her husband was selling the bike. Only 1900 miles on it. What a beast this bike is, OMG! That fan threw me at first, an aircooled bike with a fan. Thought the motor was running out of fuel and the fuel pump was free spinning! But all good. Gave her a full service yesterday and good to go now!

I had a 2008 XB12scg that I sold in 2019. I missed it so much that I had to buy another one in 2024. This one is a 2007 XB12scg almost stock and it's just as much fun as my first one. I'm five foot six and it fits me perfectly. I'll never sell this one.

Buells might seem a bit old nowadays but due to that and the HD engine they have soul, and that's what makes them so special. I had a Ducati Monster before and it was nice, but my current xb12ss is at another level.

I have an 09 XB12SCG as well and as a petite female rider I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!!! It fits me perfectly, it’s comfortable, it’s easy to handle and manoeuvre. And I’m only coming into my 2nd season this year so I know I have a lot to learn still, but I upgraded to this from an 03 Blast 500 and man I can’t wait to get back on the road!

Hi Joy, an Aussie viewer here. Back in 04 I bought a new XB9R firebolt, loved it, such a fun bike, but was over committed at the time and had to sell a year later. Went without a bike for years for years until about 4 years ago when I got a new Harley Sportster Roadster which I bobbed and did a stage 4 engine on (have a vid on my channel if you want to see it) sadly it was stolen a few months after I built it. So I picked up an 04 Lightning XB12S with carbon and mods, what an awesome fun machine it was. Insurance came through and I built a Harley Breakout 2018 with stage 4 and endless mods, I stupidly sold the Buell, but now am selling the Breakout and going to go back to a Buell Lightning again, I miss the nimble handling, miss wheelies and just miss how much fun they are. Watching and listening to your video and how much you enjoy it has just reinforced my decision to get another one. Thanks.

I FINALLY , after quite a few years bought my dream bike. A 2009 Buell XB12XT Ulysses. Love this bike. It comes with the touring hard bags, which will be great for next years trip to the Peoria TT race. If they get to have it. I first test rode the Buell at the Kansas City Harley demo rides back in 2009. Before they closed the plant. Thats when I knew this is the bike for me.

I have a 2005 XB12cg and rode it from Augusta Ga to Lake Texoma Tx right around 1,000 mile give or take in 18 hours. Awesome ride. 22 hours on the return trip. I also have a 2015 Limited. Have fun with Buell !!

Awesome bikes! Only thing I would add, is yes, they are HD blocked motors, but far improved by Buell. 30% more HP than a Sporty 1200, and 140 pounds less. You guys need to head to the Hill Country to get more twisty vids:)

I ride daily 08 XB12Scg and I have lost all interest in any other bike. I'm 240lbs and it handles me with ease. I have ECM Bluetooth dongle, racemap, quickshifer, barometer and a high flow airfilter installed. One benefit of having it race tuned is it runs alot cooler. My fan was always running before the upgrades because of running lean. Now it doesn't get anywhere near the temperature to activate the fan.

Love the Buells especially the blacked out 09 and 10 models. I have a black 09 xb12s dean Adam's pipe. Custom x1, Orange/nuclear blue s1, and the big dog EBR 2015 1190sx dean Adam's pipe ecm 44 sprocket. It's a beast. The Xb12 is my favorite bike to hop on n ride. They aren't speed demons but aren't supposed to be, alot of torque tho. fun bike to hooligan it up on.

My husband's 1125CR has a Dean Adam's RT-3 exhaust. People think their bike is loud and then he turns on his bike. 😬 Thanks for watching!

We haven't had many issues with ours, especially considering its high mileage (~40k) and the previous owner was pretty good about having its main services done. For maintenance, oil changes but don't have to clean/lube a chain since its belt driven. As far as things needing to be repaired, we've had the front head gasket replaced by a mechanic about a year or so ago and replaced brake pads a few years ago.

I just purchased a Buell XB12SCG 2007 with 3240klm (2013 miles) my first bike since 1984 that was a Honda XR250RE which was stolen that same year and as I remember the XR is a taller bike than the XB which looks quite small and compact.

I want a 09 scg so bad. I cant find one again. I'm getting a fat tax return and ofcourse not one to be found again. I'm may just get a clean 9. I found a beautiful like new one 3 years ago with 3000 miles and everything I wanted on it. But a different dude screwed me on a deal so I didnt have to cash to get it. I still get sick a pissed just thinking about it. Looked at another one but the dealership lied and said like new but after taking a look you could tell it was dumped and they replaced all the broken lights and grips with cheap ebay crap and used those frame pucks to hide the frame damage.

Sorry to hear about your experiences. We shopped around and saw a few that were in bad shape, and yes people not being very honest about the condition. It took us a while to find this one, but worth the wait! I hear Buell is coming back though, so may be a chance to pick up something new? Or maybe we'll see more older Buells come on the market if their owners are selling to get the newer version? I'll still always love the 09 though.

It’s a 1200 V-Twin by Harley actually. The only difference between this and the 1200 sportster motor is that the ones for the Buell are a 45 degree V-Twin vs the 60 degree V-Twin in the sportsters. 👍🏻
