I had the titanium version of this a few years ago. Such good value and cheap to run. I once managed to achieve 83mpg from Cheltenham to Birmingham on mostly motorways. Incredible fuel economy and comfortable. I’m in the market for a back up car as my daily drive is a van. Might get one of these again.

i know its years old now but i just got one of these models and i am happy with it so many hidden features CD changer under pass seat, Steering settings, sport comfort standard and they do make a difference to the drive heated front window is Big in winter they warm up very fast inside within 2 mins or less its blowing warm air on a cold day and over all drive is nice I found the clutch is very very high i was concerned at first but it seems to be common and its fine changing gear etc a little low power in lower end especially up hills etc but if you give it 1500rpm drop a gear its fine very economical i can't believe how cheap it is to run and the tax is £30 a year so its great affordability wise plus all this for like 700 quid in 2024 is better than i expected as i come from a VW Jetta 2.0 tdi sport i expected worse

I had the exact model company car where I worked, an 08 year new. I tried it out on the A50 just for fun and I managed to get over 70 mpg, very reliable the only fault I had was as it was new the stitching on the steering wheel was scratching my hand. I'm looking to buy another now.

I came across this model recently at one of my local dealers. I noticed it had the upgraded seats that are usually found in the titanium versions. I'm guessing they are quite rare in any Zetec model. I am actually torn between the Zetec s and the Titanium because the latter has all the extra toys in the cabin. Have to decide what's important to me.
@BarrieCrampton5 жыл бұрын
no i think that those seats were standard on the Zetec
@grahamd47645 жыл бұрын
Barry I owned a 1.8 Zetec back in 2010 with the same seats as the one in your video. In my experience they seem to be the standard in Zetecs and the S model- in this particular shape anyway. However I had not come across one with titanium seats before. I'm guessing there are more around but I'm sure they are not as prevalent as the tic tock grey and black seats that seem to be the standard ones in this model.

Looking to buy a 09 plate 1.6 tdci with 89k miles on clock. Would I have any issues with DPF filters and turbo? Apparently really common fault and very expensive to repair. Just wondering what red flags to look out for on this. I do about 8-10k miles a year by the way. Mostly town driving with occasional carriageway/motorway.
@BarrieCrampton5 жыл бұрын
you need to be doing at least 1 journey of 25 to 50 miles every 14 days and shouldn't think you would have dpf problems, you can also buy additives which help keep the system clean. We have had 1 turbo problem and we have sold a lot of Fords so its like anything else people only complain about the bad things so you think they are more common than they actually are, also parts for Fords are very reasonable so won't cost a fortune to repair
@CyberWolfVR5 жыл бұрын
@Barrie Crampton Thats great info, thanks for quick response. Very helpful 👍 Update: The year of car is actually a 08 plate not 09. Has 89k miles on clock. Is that good? The garage is asking for £1850 and will accept part exchange also. The car looks very clean immaculate.

What makes suffer from dpf problems the most?
@BarrieCrampton6 жыл бұрын
any that dont get driven a journey of between 25 to 50 miles a week, but to be fair a clogged DPF can often be a symptom of something else, ie another malfunction/running problem but it eventually manifests as a blocked DPF
