plus that was only 3 months and her first public appearance ever after her mother, brother, and nephew were all gunned down and murdered, can't believe she had the strength to even make it, and that's y she refused to perform her Grammy award winning song that night and choose a gospel ballet off the album called "You Pulled Me Through" as a tribute to them, tho she barely made thru the song understandably do to fighting back tears, its supper hard to sing in upper keys while crying as well as lower ones too.

@@seanzhang479 how do you say this and not mention JANET? She was the one who broke barriers with the genres. Her first album is credited with inventing new jack swing. She is credited with helping the development of contemporary and alt r&b. She may not have had the voice Mariah & Whit had (and I as a Janet stan wouldn’t have her voice in any other way) but her music was a major factor that would pioneer the sounds, concepts and aesthetics that Whitney/Mariah would hop on in the late 90s. Whitney and Mariah changed their image for their own reasons and went more contemporary r&b at a point in time Janet was already done with that and released The Velvet Rope which shaped new concepts of alternative r&b. I love all 3 tho. But you are helping to erase her impact by not mentioning her. A side note: Janet’s ‘Alright’ remix with rapper Heavy D came 5 years before the ‘Fantasy’ remix - my girl BEEN doing things out of the box before her peers.

People will always have something negative to say about everyone in the world, That's life! But, Whitney's LIFE and her MUSIC touched millions of people on this earth. People can sit behind their computer screens and curse her name but what they can't do is kill the LOVE people have for her, The Legacy she left behind, The LIVES she changed, and the good she did for others. Whitney was human. That is why she is one of the most beloved human beings this world will ever see. She wasn't fake. She was straight up! We watched this beautiful and talented, God fearing woman at her best and lowest moments in life. We connected with that. It showed us that no amount of money or fame can make you happy. We rooted for her and prayed for her strength. We cheered her on when she walked on the many stages she graced. We supported her dreams and made it possible for her to make them a reality. One of the many things I admired about Whitney was, no matter what was said about her, how many jokes were told, or how many lies the media printed, she STILL walked on stage just as poised and classy and beautiful as she wanted to be and held her head HIGH the entire time. That is a class act. She was genuine and she fulfilled her purpose here in life. We will always remember her music and that VOICE. There will never be another like her. EVER! No one could take lyrics and do what Whitney did with them. Every song she sang was real and you could feel it. She was living her music. So, as a fan, I could care less who throws dirt on her name. How can you talk bad about a woman you didn't know personally? How can you judge her as if you are living your own life perfectly. Addiction comes in many forms, not just drugs. Remember that! I Will always love Whitney Houston and if you were a fan like I am, continue to uplift her legacy and her name, because the HATERS will do their job anyway. LONG LIVE WHITNEY HOUSTON! #RIPNIPPY !

Whitney!! So much confidence, grace and poise! Noooobody else can come on stage like her and exude such grandeur! Maybe Diahann Carrol , Raquel Welch, Phylicia Rashad hhhmmmm A very short list!

Can I just to say that the Nominees in this category were/are just Simply ON FIRE 🔥🔥 TALENTED!! 🎶🎤🎶🎤🎶 Sad note: This was before Jenniffer Hudson's family was killed. 💜 Side note: I'm heartbroken that Eric Benet lost. That album is a Certified Classic!! 🎶💜🎶💜

I am suppose to be doing something else. I almost went into tears about this video. I was saying last night Whitney had so much. She was beautiful, a classy dresser, could sang, and a good business woman. Then there's Jennifer who during her trails stomp through with tears. What a voice what a voice what a voice.

She's really The Voice of All Time. Whitney is the only female got standing ovation by just walking on stage. Not even Mariah.
