I'm in the music biz, and I am so honored to have met Jennifer Hudson a couple months before she won this Best Supporting Actress award. She has worked so hard to achieve this and more. She is a sweet, wonderful, down to earth, and very real woman who deserved this even more than she believed herself. Those that would say anything negative about her have no clue as to what she has gone through in her life, and what a great person she is today! God bless her!
@Matt-su5fy8 жыл бұрын
People saying she didn't deserve that Oscar have never tried to act and sing at the same time lol. It's lines, it's notes, it's breath, it's expressions... I could keep going. Portraying a character is THAT hard. It's not like one person voted. It's like hundreds of voters (who have been in her shoes) felt she was deserving of it - and they were right. She mopped the floor with that role! Haters won't sing or act.
@hawrnball8 жыл бұрын

hawrnball she deserved it. She was getting standing ovations at many showings from movie goers. It happened in my theater. We begged for an encore.
@jamesparris76847 жыл бұрын
One more thing those other actors nominated have had time to study their craft and hone their acting skills. She had never acted before, all she knew how to do was sing. For her to perform as amazing as she did with less training is astonishing. Those other films may have been great but Dream Girls will be remembered for years to come!! She was well deserving of that Oscar!!!
@ascent84877 жыл бұрын
Much respect. Much respect so please don't tear me apart here. Been writing since I was 8, singing since I was 9, acting since I was 15. That woman can SANG. If this was the Grammies, "honey just step aside because Ms. Hudson needs to make a speech." That woman can not act. That acting performance looked like a reject from a Disney casting. I will never understand this award. Everyone of those actresses gave a better performance and it should have gone to Adriana Barraza or Rinko Kikuchi for sure. I feel like the people approaching this win have preconceived ideas and probably didn't see some of these other films. The woman can sing. She can't act worth a damn. Couldn't act in this. Couldn't act in Sex and the City. Couldn't act in the Secret Life of Bees. Do you know how bad an actress you have to be to stand out as the bad performance in the Sex and the City Movie?! I love Sex and the City but let's get real, these people aren't Helen Mirren, Meryl Streep and Viola Davis here. Honey, just because you like her, does not mean she deserved this. Go on ahead and like her. Be happy for her too if you want to be, but stop lying to yourselves. This was BS. Now I wish her continued success because she clearly has another talent, seems decent and is child of God so that means she's my sister but you know she did not deserve this. Come on.

Sorry people. When was the last time an entire audience at a "movie" theater broke out in applause, twice! During a movie. When I saw Dream Girls, the theater was about half full, but when Jennifer finished singing, it was New Years Eve. I totally wasn't expecting that. And every time she wasn't on the screen, the movie got a little boring. She made her part into an event. And it deserved every bit of praise.
@bellaimages11 жыл бұрын
Richard Donato I was honored to be a part of the press who saw a screening early before the official release. Even the critics were on their feet clapping at the end of "I'm telling You" ... and this was at a movie ... and with critics! After the showing, I did meet her too! I'm telling you that critics are like wolves, but I'm a writer who takes a more positive direction. God must have put me in the chair that I was sitting in, because she came in and sat right down directly in front of me. While others were first blurting out their qualifications, and trying to set up their question with an impressive knowledge of her life, I calmly waited my turn. Then my first words were "Jennifer, as glamorous and beautiful as you are up on the big screen, you are even more so in person!" How could I not feel that way looking into her eyes! Then I proceeded to about what it was like with getting all those wonderful costume changes, the wigs, and such ... she loved that! I hope that she never forgets that there are true fans who love her dearly, because I will never forget her for as long as I live!
