I love Treme. I used to volunteer at St Augustine Church after Katrina. So many times A Second Line would come down my street by my house at Gov' Nichols and Roberts and We would all come out and join in. I know what it means to miss New Orleans.

Thanks so much for this posting. I miss home so much but this helps to ease the pain of being away. Still trying to come home and rebuild my home. People just don't understand our culture and what love we have for each other. Rebirth always play their souls out!!! GOD bless you for posting this one.

@nephew501 Get your "culture" straight. What makes NOLA so special, even in the Treme, is it is not about black culture... this is Creole (in a very old sense), Indian, French (and others) blended *together* to make this amazing culture of tradition, food, accent, language, and music that you won't find anywhere else or understand 'til you are part of it. Unlike most cities that segregated their immigrants, natives, freed slaves... NOLA integrated them all into a beautiful, talented melting!

What is the name of the first song?
@BigRedCotton10 жыл бұрын
Originally is called 'Rascals Got Fire' by Lil Rascal's Brass Band. Rebirth's (the band playing here) version is 'We got that fire/Rebirth's Got Fire'.

+BigRedCotton Thinking about coming down to be apart of 2nd line this year. Which one would you recommend? If I had it my way it would be one featuring trombone shorty and rebirth. Thoughts?

all of them.
@applepieandbiscuits14 жыл бұрын
nice ... NOLA is special ... they should move the capital to New Orleans, or call it the Big Apple, or move the Golden Gate Bridge there, or the Eiffel Tower ... an American jewel, world class. got to see Rebirth many times, including Joe's Cozy Corner in '96, but never gotten to experience a second line.
