2009 Mini Cooper John Cooper Works

Its my first video so the editing isn't very good.
But here you go! Everything is stock for the John Cooper Works version. I haven't done anything to the engine or exhaust.

Mini did away with the "pop and crackle" sound with the sport button, it was due to customer complaints. Then mini brought it back with more recent model years....because of customer complaints, lol. Regardless of state to state I do believe there are federal laws regarding the removal of the cat conv. not that it matters.

@77herman77 This is in Tennessee, and as far as i know is legal in all 50 states! The exhaust came with the JCW package, I haven't modified it at all. Thanks for watching!

@someguyperson6 Nope, sport mode just changes throttle response and the steering response. The boost you're thinking of is the overboost feature, when you go wide open throttle it activates 14lbs of boost until you shift. Normally it puts out 11psi stock. I think JCW's put out one or two more lbs, i forget. I'm tuned and running peak 22lbs of boost now. I got Dark Silver too! PM me if you're interested in a auto-on sport button, turns on sport button automatically every time you start the car

@vanquishman i think it's because when sport mode is on, the turbo puts out 14 pounds of boost, instead of the 8 pounds it puts out when sport mode is off

@mcbouncin2k9 yep. comes right out of the factory like that, but it only sounds like this on the JCW model.

@chiayeoh wasn't patient enough haha. I've found that if you are cruising in 2nd gear and floor it, then let the rpm's come back down you can get some great pops!

it does sound a little different in sport mode, maybe because of the throttle response, idk?

@SmellyIndianMan Theres a difference between a weekend car and a daily driver. Yes, of course they can be daily drivers too, but reliability isn't the same as an OEM daily.
