Nissan GT-R. Nissan has sold a number of sporty cars over the years but sporty doesnt begin to describe the capabilities of the GT-R. The Nissan GT-R is a high-tech supercar that can hold its own with the best performing cars in the world. It is also the most expensive Nissan ever sold in America, but compared to other ultra-high performance cars, the GT-R is a comparative bargain.

Don't forget you can get an AMS performance package for about $20k that will up the HP to around 900-1000 TO THE WHEELS. And you can get a used GT-R for around $60k these days, with around 15-20k miles.

very good options for the car, big heavy, yet still has space and is more than quick enough for a daily driver and almost a 2+2.

I didn't think the GT-R competed with the 911, ZO6, and R8, I think this Nissan competes better with the SLR McLaren, Murcielago, and F430... The GT-R is simply a masterpiece of Japanese engineering!

@gamer7790 If you race it several times a month, you're going to need a full oil change every 2-3 months to keep the engine in top shape. Using it for daily commute, at an average of 1000 mi/mo, and you'll probably only need once a year. The typical oil used is 5W30 synthetic oil, the same one used by luxury cars like BMWs and MB, but if you race the GT-R, you should get the more expensive 10W60 synthetic oil, which is what is used in Formula-1 race cars and will protect your engine better.

For anyone looking to buy this car, you can find one that's 1-2 yrs old w/ less than 15k miles and in excellent condition for around $60k, but be warned, you'll need at least $2k/yr for insurance, not to mention the following upkeep costs: oil change: $200-300, once every 10k mi or once/yr tires: $1200-2000 per set, once every 15k-18k mi brake pads: $2000 per set, can technically last 40k mi, though average replacement is every 20k mi That is approx $1800/yr in routine maintenance alone

@mmocahbee GTR engines are hand-built like Ferrari engines, and as a result can vary from 450-535 hp (though official output is 486hp), due to the variation in actual power, the gearbox must be specifically tailored to each engine to achieve maximum performance. As a result, no 2 gearbox for the GTR has exactly the same gear ratio, which is why a replacement transmission must be custom built specifically to match the corresponding engine.

Ok...lets simplify all of this shall we...?! The Nissan GTR is (relatively) THE MOST AMAZING car ever made!! Simple. Point blank. Period. When one calculates performance, innovation and pricing - nothing else comes close to the GTR. Why do you people think they were "banned" from USA/Europe? So happy to see this day...I have ALWAYS loved and driven Japanese performance cars - and hailing from a Caribbean background I have been able to enjoy many an authentic offering from that nation!

@xxnissansilviaxx It costs betwen $200-300 for a oil + filter change at the dealer. The price will depend a lot on the amount of oil that need to be changed, obviously more oil need to be replaced if you push the car really hard (if you race it for instance). It also depend on the type of oil you use. 10W60 will protect the GT-R engine much better than 5W30, but it also cost 50% more on average per quart. As for how often you should change it, see my previous comment below.

because there is no such thing as a 'warranty voiding device'. they only said, "no related component covered while VDC off". So it's not like what other ppl said, "when you click the button the GPS knows and it will set a bomb in the Gearbox and BOOOOOMMMM! then it cost you 20k to replace" right about the oil though
@BlastDance
@BlastDance 13 жыл бұрын
@Dado75 You'll be surprised at how many people buy a car w/o considering maintenance. You can actually get a 1-2 yrs old GTR in excellent condition for between 60-70k. That's about the same price as a mid-range BMW or MB. However, unlike BMW and MB, Nissan doesn't cover routine maintenance during warranty period, and GTR parts & labor would actually cost you even more than a BMW M or a MB AMG, since most GTR parts are custom made in Japan and imported, whereas some BMW & MB parts are made in US

there are so many on autotrader already, some with 1000 miles are already down to 65k. hold its value, i thin not. the skyline held its value because it wasnt sold or made in america, these GTR's are claimed to be made in japan but im sure they are "made" and then "assembled" in the states from the same machines that make the 370z and altimas. because they are not 100% handmade they cost 80k pretty good deal, though this car will be 35k in 5 years with like 45k miles.

THE GT-R WILL SMOKE ALL OF THOSE CARS
@BlastDance
@BlastDance 14 жыл бұрын
The GT-R is just as expensive to upkeep as any high performance luxury car. An oil change will cost you about $200, and parts are even more expensive. Those 20-in performance tires wear out every 15k miles and cost $350 a piece. Those massive Brembo brakes pads will cost $500 a piece, the ventilated brake discs will cost between $800-1000 a piece. A replacement transmission will cost you $6000, because they are custom built for each engine. Consider all of this carefully before buying one!

what's wrong with spending more money on a GTR. Just because Nissan isn't a luxury brand doesn't mean it is embarrassing or 'wrong' to spend a little more on one of their cars. I would definitely take this over any other super car, it costs less than other super cars but still has good performance. GTR offers great value. Anyone who laughs at people for spending their money on a Nissan GTR obviously knows squat about cars.

now days most people would get a GTR BLACK edition over the base as it is allot faster and can compete with audi R8, Ferrari 458, Corvette ZR1 (on the drag strip not so much track).unfortunately that will run you about 120k$ for a black edition which feels "numb" and requires no real skill as a driver.no doubt it makes good"numbers"on the drag strip but when comparing to other super cars (ZR1,458) it only makes super car numbers,not styling or feel if i were to spend 120k i would think vary hard
