Not only that, you can adjust the stiffness of its suspension by the flick of a switch! Which means you can still get a soft ride!

First off brand names don't matter, cars do. The car is damn beautiful all around. The ride isn't stiff as long as you set it to comfort mode. There is a switch that allows you to switch between racing and comfort settings for the car's suspension.

Bout freakin time they posted this vid review!! I would have gone for this car although I just couldn't wait any longer and went with the RS4 and I also needed 4 doors and a larger boot so it helped ease the decision a bit

**There aren't enough superlatives to describe this car! I was just about to buy a Porsche when my friends nagged me to look at the GTR. I did, and after a once-over and test drive, I was hooked. This car is FAST! The all-wheel drive and performance modes make for superb handling. I have not encountered a car that will challenge it, including Ferraris, Corvettes, Vipers, Lambos and Porsches. Frankly speaking, this is the BEST car I've ever owned so I love it with deep passion and I'm so happy XD
@Areses

its actually a semi-automatic dual clutch paddle shifting transmission, a little difference must high performance cars are sold this may dual clutch means you don't have to let off the gas while you shift and that makes for well better performance.

yes it does use a launch control pad. And it isn't 430 hp it is 485 with 430 lb ft. of torque.

because the new AVT transmissions are so advanced there really is no need for shifting gears anymore at least in most newer cars.

the paddle shifters are probably in the sport/shift mode. If i heard correctly, the GTR has a CVT transmission and would probably be in your regular smooth automatic mode during regular drive settings. But you are probably right. Servicing a supercar is going to be expensive

GT-R is lucky to be the first supercar to feature a torque spliting diff, that saved Nissan a lot of money because they didn't have to track tune it to death, but on the other hand, you get impression like you're not driving it, like someone is steering the rear wheels for you.

a 2 door coupe with a 3.8l v6 would usually be called a super car when it nearly hits 200mph. and the body shape is called an R35 which is carrying on from the skylines. its a new skyline with more curves and a v6 instead of a straight 6.

Too bad sticks can result in delays in sending power to the wheels due to the comparatively long shifting times plus the clutch pedal. This is why Ferrari also went for paddles on their new cars, starting with the F575 Marranello. (and also why cars with super high acceleration like Formula 1 cars use paddles too)
@sailorenlil
@sailorenlil 15 жыл бұрын
Oh, yes, love the trunk space of the GT-R too (and that's despite having seats in the rear for 3 passengers as well). Any other supercar beat that? (eg how much trunk space does the ZR1 have? And as far as I know, the ZR1 is a two-seater)

@mentalm12 I know the feeling. It is an issue of trade off. But then again as with most Nissan sports car they always comes with an option for a stick transmition. The paddle shifter attracks more to pipz who wanted the more trendy and techy preference.

well, the previous version, even used, such as the R33 and R34 would still run you about 60 to 80 thousand USD. After customs and shipping it to america (if you live in america) would cost loads. (60-80k was the total)

Void your warranty. -using aftermarket rims -going to a unapproved race track -after going to approved race track not going to nissan to do an inspection and costing 1,000 -launch control -going pasted a certain speed kmh mph(diff in canada and us) -bringing the car close to redline I dont have all day but trust me ive read it ALL and those are only a few.

That's kinda the point. The Japanese philosophy is embodied in the design. Its humble, stealthy. It doesn't need the "look at me!" styling of an Italian exotic or the hubris of a German supercar. It does what it needs to do. 7:29 around the Nurburgring. Nuff said.

nah, the estimated time of the V-Spec is 7:25, and the ZR1 had an engineer from GM driving in it. Once Jan Magnussen (driver for Corvette Racing) hops in, I'm sure the ZR1 can do it in 7:25 or less.

@6UNLEASHED I know it costs a lot more. It's an $80K (actually, 2012 is now $90K car) that is one of the strongest performing cars in the world. The fact that the Nissan GT-R's gigantic Brembo brakes are more expensive than the brakes on a Mustang surprises no one except apparently you. Most people already expect this.

Take a look at an Eclipse. The front end looks exactly like one. I should know. I own one. Everytime I see this thing from the front I think nice "Mitsubishi Eclipse". They stole styling cues from many other cars too. Still came out decent-looking though.

Face it, the GT-R is probably one of the best performance cars for the price. It would put a Z06 in its place and it's between 15-20k cheaper. The ZR1 isn't even in the same category due to its 30k + price. Plus the amount you'd spend on the ZR1 you could have a 9 sec GT-R if you wanted to. Bolt ons and tunes for this car will be crazy.

No. You are wrong again. Using the LC is fie,as long as you don't ABUSE it. ABUSING the launch control means that you use it in every run within a short period of time,not letting it cool down. As you know,there is a small indicator on the gauge cluster that blinks to tell you to let the transmission cool down. One thing I learnt today is: never listen to anything a GM fanboy is. That means you,304teddy.

Nay nay, recent reports indicate that the ZR1 has lapped the ring faster than the GT-R, but not by much. When the GT-R V-Spec hits, it should be in the 7:25 range, compared to the ZR1 at 7:35 range, the GT-R at about 7:40, and the Z06 at about 7:48.

Respondig to the claims of inconsistent h.p. Sure, thats often the case with handbuilt cars. However, this vehicle is well into production and many tests on different vehicles have been made. The car stacks up. In every way. BTW. The 96 vette gran sport was the same. Some were tested at 330 h.p. and some at 380. None the less the difference in performance was a few ticks on the clock. Anyway... L8r dude.
