Great Video, Thank You. one tip from what I have heard is you are supposed to make sure you can crack open the top oil fill plug on the transfer cases first. In case you drain all the oil out of the bottom plug, then you won't be able to re-fill the fluid.

Thanks for the video! It will help so many people! :) no videos on internet on diff oil change :) front transfer case oil is a pain to change you need a 24 mm ratcheting wrench and pull the exhaust off the hangers ;)

Really? I would have thought the front would be in with the transmission and that fluid.. huh.. thanks for the comments!

Those Toyota 2.4l engines are massive oil drinkers!

Cool. There is also a transfer case in the front which also takes same gear oil. The fill hole is harder to get to so you will need a pump (which you can screw onto bottle) and a section of clear hose so you can fill it. Also, the fill and drain plugs should be 24mm hex and they are low profile so make sure your tool is on them really well. One more thing-always open fill plug first, so that if it won't come off you did not just drain unit and now cannot refill it (unless you do the plastic bag trick or flip car upside down).

I have a misfire on 1&2 cylinders. I changed the plugs and coils. Also redid valve cover gasket. Still have a rough idle and check engine light. Could it be a O2 sensor?

Hey! I need some advice, I have the same model as you but I’ve been having issues with my car not wanting to start. Battery is fine and if it was the alternator the engine would start. I’m guessing it may be the starter but I’m new to being a wiz with these things. The key turns and there’s a clank noise but no ignition no sound just the sound of something clicking. Any help from anyone would be appreciated

A CLICKING SOUND IS THE STARTER GONE BAD. IF THATS WHAT YOU HEAR, A DEFINATE CLICKING NOISE.. ITS THE STARTER

I can definitely relate to cars not being serviceable anymore. My fiance had a 2014 Altima, had the CVT transmission which is a terrible design in my opinion. That started acting up, I went to check the trans fluid and there was no dipstick. I was quite irritated with that. Basically a throwaway car.
@kurtisgleba31213 жыл бұрын
Exactly, everything is throwaway these days! That rogue i just got that is showed at end of this video has a CVT transmission. Not super impressed with that either. Hopefully no trouble with it.. i just soon have everything have 2 sticks 🤣

That's all what Nissans are from 2000 and up, once Renault bought them, then Carlos Ghosn, and a lot of top executives robbed them blind.
@oldoffy44083 жыл бұрын
It's very silly of them to design modern vehicles where you have to pull 75% of them apart just to change a belt or a starter. But the gimmick with modern cars is - limit their ease of serviceability so their owners will spend more money at the dealerships. Trucks are no better. One needs an expensive scan tool and software for just about everything on them. And removal of DPF and EGR systems voids the warrantee. I honestly forgot GM produce the Pontiac line in 2009. I keep thinking it discontinued around the same time as Oldsmobile.

I have a vibe with the 1.8 and the only issue I have with it is vibration when low idle around 750 rpm, new plugs and coils. anyone have an idea?

I've seen a lot of the Pontiac Vibes in my area for sale with locked up engines. :( Mostly the 2007 model.
