@@rachelmiglionico8121 not exactly. you see, spyker wanted to buy saab at the last minute before GM was about to shut them down. unfortunately, Spyker couldn't hold the SAAB firm since GM wasn't letting go everything necessary in order to hold up SAAB, such as the emblems and name, since they were under copyright from GM, and they wouldn't give it over to spyker. the deal eventually fell through thanks to GM's stubbornness and wee see the ever long lasting effects of that today.

@@canadiansaabfreak6530 yeah but in 2009, Koenigsegg announced its intention to purchase Saab from GM but then a few months after Koenigsegg announced that it had "come to the painful and difficult conclusion that it could no longer carry out the acquisition"much because of the constant delays and the difficulties coordinating the involved parties: GM, the European Investment Bank, the Swedish National Debt Office and BAIC.

Yes, it's sad GM sold Saab. They put alot of money into the brand. The 9-3 and 9-5s were cool cars. The Saabura and chevysaab were pretty stupid. GM has killed alot of brands. They should have made a badass c900 remake. Sonnett I thought the new 9-5s were really bad, fat and bloated styling compared to the older 9-5 so they had some bad cars at end that made GM sell them.

I've had 8 x 9-3 convertible Aeros and have just bought my ninth with is a V6 Turbo Convertible. I've installed quad tips with mufflers deleted and CAI. Sounds amazing and goes hard.

my 2007 93 convertible also opens the roof when you hold down the unlock button on the key fob, which I think is pretty cool. also, the glovebox is cooled

The Time for Service message was on, just like when I bought mine. I was so afraid of that thing I thought the car would stall on the way home. Turned out all it needed was an oil change.. Old owner just put oil in it, water for the wipers and changed tires. Swore the thing was bullet-proof, and it has 100k miles on board. Had it for almost a year now and I can only agree with him..

And that's true. Here in The Netherlands, Saab has asked car dealers if they want to make space for Saab cars in their showrooms. It's also expected that there will be a new Saab in Q1 2014. So we'll wait on that.

The rubberized "vent" in the center console is not a vent, it's a coin holder. The vent is in the rear part of the glove box and has a sliding door that turns the ventilation on and off. The passenger side seat does not have the same power adjustments as the driver, it is more limited.

Nice cars! My sister has a 2006 Aero 9-3 same color with accent black stripe on the white leather seats. I have a red (2003) and a silver (2001) 9-3 Convertible and my brother has a 2002 9-3 convertible royal blue. Love these cars!

I have had a SAAB Aero convertible for over 3yrs now, and love it to bits. Quick, Quite, and very comfortable. I am suprised though that the US version has a 16 gallon + fuel tank - a lot bigger than mine. Oh, and I get better fuel economy that what was stated in the video.

There's actually several companies that have started just for the purpose of providing these parts & cheaper than saab, but seeing as saab was owned by GM there is an enormous amount of parts floating around anyway

The only way I see Saab coming back is a big company like Toyota or VW buying them. I'd love to see the Volkswagen Group buy Saab. I think it would be a good fit. Especially since VW recently moved a little bit downmarket. Saab could then take VWs old spot - sort of in between mass market cars and premium cars. Being one of the biggest carmakers in the world (many expect VW to be THE biggest by the end of 2012), they could just use their vast variety of parts in Saabs, paired with Saab styling.

I don't know if you have seen a concept version of the 2013 of the SAAB 9-3, but it looks pretty nice. Saab would actually be a great sell if they could just lower the prices of their vehicles. The styling just does not match the price.
