This brass instructor WAS a drum major, himself. Several years back, he was Phantom's DM. He also was my drum major, for one year in college. The year he came to UAB, we were phenomenal. I was on the drumline, the time he spent with us, turned our program around.

i saw them two days ago at Rio Rancho, NM right before they played their final warm up he said to them "remember always play from the soul.. always.. from the soul." once that sound came out, it was breath taking. being in front of that wall sound is indescribable.
