Very clearly explained, and very good video. One point which remains unconsidered is the carrying capacity and speed of the two bikes. On activa you can travel with your wife or friend and a little child, at a good speed - which saves your time and also increases you comfort level during the journey. Well going solo, and that too for going to office only it is good. So both the bikes are complementary to each other, not the substitute. For good economy and comfort, you must have both of them.

The prospecive customers, before purchase, will definitely get thorough knowledge of this product. The manufacturer Hero Co., too will get insight of the drawbacks for design improvement, like the necessity of a lock switch to avoid forward motion, if the bicycle is parked. May I also suggest that 1. it should also have an indicator for battery replacement sign after 1or 2 or 3years. 2. there is a scope for R&D to design similar bicycle in foldable version. 3. Does Bajaj have any plans to enter in this segment as a competitor?

Very simple and detailed review. I am also using a Hero Lectro cycle, a higher model called Townmaster. It has some additional features but the electronics is exactly the same. After almost one year of usage I must day this e-cycle is a beautiful piece of engineering. The only problem I have faced as highlighted in the review is parking the bike in a public spade. It attracts a lot of attention and kids / people just start fiddling with the cycle. Some form of ignition key should be incorporated by Hero. Other than this, this cycle is a pure pleasure.

No issues with battery so far. Control panel replaced once due to the malfunction after rain water entry. After replacement no issues (now I take care of the water) I tried using that 6kmph mode found useless!

Battery is located inside rectangle tube. You can remove it for replacement. Suggest to goto nearest dealer to replace the battery since it needs careful job. Battery cost as on now is around 6500 Rs

My personal opinion is that you can go for non geared elecric cycle but with front suspension version. Without battery also it works as normal cycle, so no issues. I am giving this opinion based on my experience of using geared and non geared cycle in last 5 years 👍

Yes, it is possible to replace the battery. The battery is located in the reactangle tube, which has metal plate cover on bottom side. You need to remove the cover, then disconnect all battery connections with the harness and then remove the battery

But sir, why did you take cost per charge to be Rs 8 as you mentioned initially the cost per unit of electricity to be Rs 8 and as a single charge of the cycle requires 0.25 units for 4 hours, so going by this way we get 0.25 × 8 = Rs 2 there, then you have to calculate the Rs per km and then for a single day, monthy and per year respectively!

Based on my experience of using with 18 gears cycle as well as normal cycle, and after driving electric cycle I decided to go for non geared electric cycle. Reason being that, the assist work done by gears in normal cycle is done by battery and motor in electric cycle, so in my opinion no need of geared electric cycle 🙋
