She has had little hair since she was born. The amount of her hair changes daily.

Alopecia is a serious issue among captive nonhuman primates. There's a Dutch guy who shares his videos about the gorillas/chimps (and other primates) living in Apenheul's and Burger's zoos (where Frans de Waal worked with the chimp colony!), he has just placed a link to an interesting study on alopecia, you can find it on René the Dutch Creator: Baby Chimpanzee with their Mother, part 27, in the description.
