I had a job with a telephone company that used these as a back up a/c power supply. Run them monthly. Really neat to be in the room with it running at I believe at 59,000 rpm, exhaust temperature about 500 degrees F.

This is a Solar Turbine KS 200 Spartan generator set. It is a single stage radial gas turbine that runs on diesel fuel. The gas turbine is 325 Horsepower mounted on a gearbox with 3600 rpm generator supplying the power.

I don't think it started.. it should take a lot longer than that to start a jet engine.. that sounded like the blower to start the jet

@@bman0429 I did the controls retrofit well over a decade ago now. AB PLC / IDEC HMI for the supervisory controls, and the tried and true 2301A/SPM-A combo for speed / sync / load control.
