I would say the Ark O line and other blockers couldn't stop the rushers, and maybe the receivers couldn't get open. And maybe the QB didn't see open receivers, he sure didn't have much time. It was a disaster for Ark at the end.

I remember this game like it was yesterday. Mallet tried to go up a touchdown to fast on the first drive of the 4th quarter. If he would have taken his time, chewed clock, then punch it in, we would have won this game.

Bro no he did not. It's a team game. Sugar bowl he kept us in it even tho he was constantly sacked or pressured. This was Alabama at peak powers. He performed fantastically against future pro bowlers. Yes he threw late int's but almost always was on the run or a Touchdown was next to impossible so he had to "take the shot". You clearly didn't play team sports if you think mallett had a choking problem. Remember the game at Georgia? No choke on that 1 in 100 win

You can't even spell *choke*-- "chock" isn't a word. He avoided a sack, the ball was intercepted on the sideline with a toe touch grab. Oh, and during all of this, he was attempting to throw it away. Hard to believe that this was the same Arkansas team that later Cam Newton and Auburn would hang 65 pts on them. However, the backup in place of Mallett would do a great job keeping them in the game but fell 3 TD's short. Mallett was a real talent. RIP.

Ryan Mallet intercepted yet again. He did same thing later that year in Sugar Bowl against Ohio State. Hate to lay blame on one single player buy his interceptions were killer

Hog fan here. You can blame Mallet but don't forget that ARK blocked a punt from Ohio State with roughly a minute left and DID NOT PICK IT UP and run it into the end zone for what was likely a game winning TD. Instead, they just fell on it and did nothing with it. HUMUNGOUS mental error even before the INT.
