Mine made it to 215000 miles before the rack seized up. The rockers are all rotted out so the car is going to the junkyard. Can’t complain about the car at all, it was great for 12 years without major problems.

Had trouble getting the ball joints back into the knuckle so I flipped the nut upside down suck the threads through till I had enough then put the nut on properly and torque it down like worked like a dream

How did you get the frame back around the body bolts? Mine seems to not want to go back in to place. I think I lowered the frame to low to replace rack and pinion

Sorry I did this so long ago I don't remember. But there's very little that I did not include in the video. I bet with all the tools and a friend you could probably bang it out in a weekend.

Thanks for the video that was very helpfull. I'm in the same boat but with my 2011. The recall is void if the car is 10 years old or 150k miles on it. Not going to lie a little sketched out about the sub frame lowering part.

My understanding is some will and some won't. This one didn't need it. Depends on what vehicle the reman rack was in before and what software. I hope someone will pipe in if they've had an issue with it.

2012 only had a recall from a certain number of vins. Mine didnt come back as a recall. Rack still went.

There will be zero power steering. These vehicles are VERY difficult to steer without it. It's a shit design.

No they charged me just to update the VIN (because it didn't need to be flashed). So it ended up being a waste of money.

I think the instructions say to, but read comments, I think some found it wasn't necessary. I did it mostly because my exhaust needed replacement.

My steering is really loose and when I turn it makes a popping sound. I also noticed if I break I can feel a rolling sensation when I do.. I don’t know if it’s the rack and pinion

Why??? get a friend or family member and bang that sucker out. Its better then sitting on the couch and watching tv.. its easy to do just follow the video thats why its there.. you are going to get a low number for your car these engine and transmission run forever and your not gonna buy a car cheaper these days. $700 part and some man time is not to bad. Let your masculinity out my friend.. do the job and save yourself a lot of money. Be smart
