2010 5A Division I State Championship: Pearland vs Euless Trinity

I’m #22 higginbotham. Man We faced so much adversity this game. Second drive of the game,e our star two way player Myles Kanipes #10, tore his acl. I had to move over to safety and we had a back up at the other corner position. My job was to follow Brandon Carter at receiver , luckily Trinity didn’t gameplay for him, to run a lot of routes. But man, nothing but God and our faith helped us to win that game and go undefeated. Will never forget this season 🤌🏽💍

A heartbreaking loss for the trinity Trojans I mean I’m a dye heart Trojans fan and I even grew up on the haka of there’s and I always did it along with them.

This still hurts me because Pearland was the 4th or 5th best team Trinity played in the playoffs that year.

We were always underdogs. I’m Higginbotham #22, starting DB, we always were counted out but man we had a ridiculous amount of faith. We started speaking that we’d win state the summer before during 7on7 season when we almost beat desoto eagles in the championship bracket. We never lost faith or hope, we had a lot of miracle moments while being down in the last moments and always pulled out. I believe that happened because of the ridiculous amount of faith that we had. Man it still gives me chills, but we did the damn thing that year !
