Using ten to twelve inch "double walled" tail pipe tips eliminated almost all drone. Dual exhaust setup. Only a little drone near 2500 to 2700 rpm's. That is my current setup. Regular tips will produse a lot of drone.
@bearjackson44011 жыл бұрын
Nice setup, dont let these internet mechanics deter you. Im currently running a SC on my 3.5, and will be doing a similar set up. A, its one of the best sounding on these cars and B it still creates backpressure. Only difference is I opted for a 40 series and no tips. Great job. gotta love Kansas, was stationed there for 2.5 years.

Sounds awesome and good man installing mudflaps too! All my cars for the past 28 years also got the Flowmaster and flap treatment as well ... nothing sounds better if you ask me. And nothing chips your car up more than NOT installing mudflaps. I put the Force II system on my wife's 2010 SXT Charger when it was new and she loves it still to this day ... sounds similar to your's but a little more refined & mellower ... uses a 50 Series muffler instead plus Flowmaster's version of resonators on each tailpipe.

Sounds really good man, I already have dual exhaust on mine (2012 3.6l), definitely considering these super 44's with resonators removed now
@Andrew1701911 жыл бұрын
Might want to check on the tuner first, though. I don't think tuners are available for 2011 and newer Challengers since they started using the Pentastar engine. That may have changed in the last year, but it wasn't available a year ago.

@mattyredrock I think the stock Y-pipe is what opens it up to 2.5in. I kept the stock Y-pipe, but you could go true dual and use an X-pipe with 2.5 outlets. If you are keeping the stock Y-pipe you'll need a 2.5" inlet.

Great video. Sound great. I'm getting set to do the same setup to my '10 Challenger except with a different muffler and stock R/T tips. When i ordered the muffler it came up as 2 1/4" in and out, as well as the info i got off of the forums too. Did you upsize to the 2 1/2" for the conversion? I'm thinking I might need to return it.

Awesome sound it sounds like a big V8, please can you give me the website link for it or the part #, so I need this same one for my 2004 chevy montecarlo ss V6. Great job one that muffler man.

+Hallphamazing305 The part number is Flowmaster 9425472. I checked Google shopping and it looks like there are still plenty for sale around $85. I'm not sure what kind of input you'll want with a Chevy, you will probably want to do some searches on online forums before making purchase. the Super 44 has a lot of options for sizes, though.

I am sorry, this was probably explained. But are these true duals? Because I was going to go down to texas and get a custom true dual exhaust in stalled with the super 44's. Was wondering if you could post a video of the exterior sound of your car when driving by? or from a stop and drive away? If you could it would really be appreciated since I have the same make and model and I want to be sure about my exhaust choice.
@Andrew1701910 жыл бұрын
True dual means that your exhaust runs directly from one header to one exhaust tip without mixing with the exhaust from the other header. In my setup they run from the headers to the cats and then mix with a Y pipe and 1-into-2 muffler, back out to two seperate tips. The end of the video has a (windy) drive-by. Sadly, I won't have time to get a decent video in the next few months.

@slc9800gtx5 жыл бұрын
I have "dual walled" tail pipes and they eliminate 95% of the drone. Also, without the resonators, the drone heard in a long drive would be VERY annoying. That is what I went with the "dual walled" tail pipes after trying the setup with regular pipes.

Your local exhaust and muffler shop should be able to hook you up. Finding perfectly fitting pipes without bending them at all is expensive.
@calebsmith320710 жыл бұрын
Andrew17019 ok, and one more thing. Do you think I could make this a dual with an X pipe instead of the Y pipe and just add to mufflers instead of one?
@Andrew1701912 жыл бұрын
I kept the stock Y pipe so it is no less efficient than the stock system. This isn't a true dual system, and I'm not concerned with performance past the engine at this point. If I were to do a total overhaul I would use shorty headers and a true dual system...

Why does your 2010 vehicle come stock with a rusted muffler, or how did it get rusty and awful in just two years?
@Andrew1701911 жыл бұрын
I think it's mostly due to it being driven in northern states (PA, etc.) that salt their roads during the winter. My current setup hasn't had those problems since I have been driving in states that don't salt their roads during the winter. I have noticed that the early single side exhaust tips (2008-2010) all have rust issues.

And no matter what you say people will buy whatever they want and guess what there is now 4 banger camaros and mustangs so the theory of having a v8 to be a muscle car is getting put in the past as v6 engines now get 335 hp stock it past the power of v8s ten years ago
@andrewwong26869 жыл бұрын
+bofoloco70 Fun fact, the original base model Challenger of the 70's came in V6, around 3.7l, although that was a straight six. I bought a V6 model because I wanted the awesome lines of the Challenger body with some fuel economy as well. Other things went into it as well, like color options, the Rallye package, price, etc. I've had the car for 4 years now and I don't see myself getting rid of it anytime soon. My only wish was that they offered a manual V6 model, which would just help out fuel economy even more.
