I just replaced my Motor mount yesterday and my 07 Honda Civic runs SMOOTH! I decided to replaced my Transmission mount today, its the original mount from day 1 of the car. Now the car vibrates a a little when I switch to Drive with the brake still pressed. I was wondering, are you suppose to torque your bolts AFTER hand tightening it and lowering the jack, or with the jack still holding the transmission? Also note, I had a hard time aligning the LONG middle bolt that's in between the 2 nut. Can you move the Transmission around using the jack? I'm going to try and fix this issue tomorrow morning. I'm also going to replace the Lower Torque mount as well tomorrow.

When working with motor/transmission mounts, do not tight or torque any mounting bolts until all bolts are started by hand. Leave them loose so you have some wiggle room to get all the bolts started. After all bolts are started, then you can tight all of them down with the ratchet and torque them. You can use a jack or pry bar...to wiggle the motor/transmission a little to get all bolts started. After tight all dolts down with ratchet, you can torque them without the jack support because everything are aligned. The jack is for support so you can raise or lower to get the bolts align. Do not raise the motor too high that can damage other parts, just enough to align the bolts so you can get them started. If you use aftermarket mount especially the right side one. You may experience jerking when you shift. I have tried the Autozone's mount and have to return it back because of hard jerking when shift from park to reverse or drive.

@@truerenegade1095 I got bolts hand tighten, torque it down to spec afterwards THAN lower the jack. I seen other videos that people hand tighten it, lower the jack THAN torque it down? I'm just confused which is the correct method. It seems like I did it wrong, I will try lowering the jack after hand tightening the bolts and torqueing them to see if it improved. I will also be changing the Lower Torque Mount as well. Maybe since the Motor Mount and Transmission mount are new, the current Lower Torque mount(old) is now taking a beating. Ill update tomorrow

I'm planning to do the same on my transmission mount. How did the locktite workout for you? My car vibrates on certain rpm and speed also every stop signs i can hear my engine or transmission moving. Checked all other mounts and the transmission mount will be the last on my list.

The stuff I put on the motor mount is use to 1. Keep the original rubber clean, 2. Absorb the shock and 3. Limit the maximum twist of the motor mount so it can last longer when shifting. But only use it on a good mount. I tried to repair the broken mount with it and it will not stick to the rubber.
