I take it the ZR1 has extremely firm suspension just like the ZO6?,the roads in the U.K. where I live are very poor and it kind of beats you up unless you're driving it like intended,I understand that it isn't a GT car,it is a sports car and makes no apologies.

Bro the C6 ZR1 is my dream car as well. The thing is a brute on rolls and tracks. Known for its brutal acceleration and stability. 638 hp in 2009 was a huge deal at the time. This car was way ahead in terms of performance. Things a monster. You're lucky to have an experience with this, man.

These are severely underrated. I had my bone stock 2012 zr1 on a chassis dyno and was pulling 670 rwhp which would be over 700 bhp accounting for drivetrain frictional losses

My buddy has a 2012 version. It changed my definition of fast. My first ride as a passenger was scary. My legs were literally shaking when we finally came to a stop. I couldn't get out of the car for a minute or so.

e85 and full bolt ons with ported everything will make 800whp easy. To beat an 800whp ZR1 you'd need at least 900-1000whp+ in anything else.

I drove one of these when I was 18 . Was working at a benz dealership and got it in on trade. I remember taking it to fuel up, and trying to hit it a little bit. Couldn’t even get traction from the sheer power hitting the wheels at even a modest application of pressure on the gas. I distinctly remember that car out of the many fast cars because of that! Sidenote - the e63s amg wagon was INSANE

My friend has a 2011 zr1 with fbo, cam/heads, full e85, and a 150 shot and let my just say i have never been more terrified while driving a car, I floored it from 70 in 4th and I could feel it wanting to break traction

C6 is easily my favorite Corvette generation. It's a solid car that took all of the flaws of the C5 and buffed them out with a bunch of European influences. The ZR1 took all of that to a new level, and the fact that this model is faster than a C7 Z06 is seriously stunning.

C6ZR1’s are awesome. Great trans, great diff, and the LS9 can handle bundles of power. All you need is a drag radials or a r comp like a R888R in stock form and traction isn’t an issues if you can drive.

Finally, a car review from you! I started watching you over 2 years ago when you were doing car reviews and because of your new Scat Pack because I just got a Scat Pack too. After going from car to car, I did stop watching. Just being honest. I more just prefer seeing car reviews on new cars, old cars, Whatever. I would have liked it if you stuck to one car and go with that. Either the scat pack or if you wanted a more modified car, kept the corvette. Many youtubers stay in the same car for awhile and they get known for that car. Good luck!

I've considered for a while putting a supercharger on my LS7, but every time I take it out for a drive, I think "This feels about right at 505." It's fun, relatively safe, and easily streetable. 685 HP (Vengeance Racing set-up) might ruin the fun factor; I don't know.

I regret getting rid of mine 10 mins after it happened. I love it even better in red. Just such a perfect package. Like you said until it’s time for a brake job lmao. I own a stock C6 ZR1 with the Michelin Super Sports. I live in Florida and those tires are super sensitive to temperature. If they are warm, you can actually hook at the top of 1st gear with full throttle. 2nd gear it hooks all day no problem. Right now the temp in Florida is in the high 60s low 70s and its basically exactly what you were experiencing in this video which is no traction until your in 3rd. Its a shame you weren't able to test drive the ZR1 in hotter weather as those traction issue through 1st and 2nd would not have been a problem. The most fun pull to do is 60mph in 2nd with the tires up to temp. I hope one you get to experience that.

Technically the modified Heads and Cam C6 Z06 you drove should be should be faster. Both are absolute monsters. The Z06 is roughly 100-150lbs lighter and that one made 600rwhp. Stock ZR1s dyno 540-560rwhp. Look forward to your reaction to a pulley,tune,headers and cam ZR1. Stock for stock the ZR1 takes the cake no doubt but both platforms are still top 5 in my book.

Reset your MPG avg. and your range will increase to normal. It was probably sitting idle and the mpg avg. dipped to 10 or 11.

They'll get 20 on the highway and about 16 in the city, if you can keep your foot off the pedal. I've got a Toyota 4 Runner Limited with a TRD Supercharger, it only gets about 17 mpg on the highway and 14 around town. It also takes 93 octane.

I have a 2017 ZO6 and raced two C6 ZR1's and they weren't faster that is for sure, but this is a great ride.

They're pretty dead even up to 120, after 120 is where the ZR1 shines, It will pull hard from a stock C7 Z06. The C6 ZR1 is a lot faster up top, it won't stop pulling, at 180 the thing is still pulling hard. The fastest car i've ever owned thus far and I'm coming from a Hellcat which was my 2nd fastest.

@@gregorywilson8640 Both great cars, I am going to find a C6 ZR1 because it is a great car to buy and hold on to. the performance both cars are driver based so it depends who is behind the wheel in my opinion but my opinion doesn't matter too much ahaa but I do have over 30-yrs with driving and racing so maybe counts some like a grain of sand on a beach. Either way both awesome platforms.

Why would anyone use the "fuel range" feature on any car? That's simply a calculation based on average past driving. It is easily the least accurate gauge in any vehicle. You might get three times as many miles or 10% of that (if you drive like me). I've owned many Corvettes, currently a near-800hp Z06, and they get excellent mileage for a powerful car. Peter - and that’s coming straight from @CorvetteMechanic . A real concern is chipping a rotor during wheel removal, that’s why they included the pool noodle protectors on the ZR1 to put on the edge of the rotors

Rusty, yep. Plus, it is said that Necessity is the Mother of Invention. I use ArmorFlex. Good for rotors, doors, both swinging and trap, slippers and my body. Well, when you're wife constantly walks around with a baseball bat AND ball, let's just say being foreArmored is being forewarned. Or is it the other way round? Anyway, you get the picture, and yeah, it ain't a pretty one.

I don't know, but I've driven this car before exceptionally one of the fastest cars I've ever driven but if you leave the car in race mode that's what you get now I've given the car in touring mode you don't get all of that I've given that car in sport mode you get a little bit of that. That's why models after 2009 came with the traction control selection you could learn to drive the car until you at where he's at with the car losing traction because if it's in rest mode it turns off all the ninnies I'm saving your ass but I love that car just saying
