A thousand thanks mate for this invaluable video. Thanks to this vid I dared to change my own turbo with you as my teacher guiding me through it all! I noticed my Kia had the exhaust gas temp sensor in the turbo which my new exchange turbo didn't so check this (sits right next to the oil pipe feed line on top of the turbo), see if it works yet the same tomorrow when I start the car up. I also had to change the IC pipe since it had cracks and these vary in design between the early models 2007-2010 so be sure to check that too if you need to change. Again, massive thanks mate!! Couldn't and wouldn't have dared to do it without this video.

thanks! very useful video. i have a 2010 #hyundai #i30 #1.6crdi, the same engine bay. i could manage to take out the turbo in 4 hours without lift, just from above. you have to take out the alternator as well, because the alternator is in the way. but alternator is easy move.

Why did you have to take the whole manifold off? Surely you can remove the turbo and leave it on?

I had to take the manifold off. Plus the new one came with the manifold on

Hi mate very helpful video Actually my car is hyundai i30 1.6 diesel 2010 turbo sounds like siren, but when I disconnect the vacuum line from the turbo the sound go away , and no smoke or any other issues

what the procedure after replacing the turbo, to start the car up. should you replace the oil and oil filter before the first start up or after and what else should you clean or drain oil out off before starting.

I would recommend replacing the oil and Filter before starting it. Then after about 1000 miles Replace it again then your good to go

Please help me with information, if the turbine is new from the Garrett manufacturer and has variable geometry and I change the engine oil and air filter when putting it on the car, it needs other settings made from the tester for its recognition by the computer, balancing or other gender interventions or is it mounted? i have a kia ceed from 2007 d4fb 1.6 crdi 90 hp !

If its brand new car and turbo should be good for 100k easy. To Replace it I would say labour wise about £200 plus the parts

My uncle's 2009 hyundai i30 1.6 diesel has been whistling for a year when he revs it, and just recently had eml light on. Fault code is 0299 turbo charger underboost. I want to inspect the turbo first, what would you recommend to look out for?

Theres no easy way, you have to check the turbo core cartridge and see if you have any play on it

Hey, the whistling may be caused by the intake system and not by fault on the turbo. Check the system for any leaks. Get someone to Rev to car, stand by the engine and try to find where is that whistling coming from.

Hi bro, im having a trouble with my ByPass Valve/recirculation valve. When I accelerate, i can hear the whistle sound. And 2000 to 3000 rpm i can fell sudden loss power and then gaining back at 4000 rpm. I believe its the bypass valve diaphragm has called it a day. Where is the location of the bypass valve and how to change or?

Is it not the EGR VALVE, am having same issue with my Audi am replacing the EGR valve could be that

@@TEAMR4ULTV I did disassemble the EGR valve and clean it through proper. There's a hungarian guy on youtube made a similarly nice instructional video on it just like this one that helped me through (in hungarian but you can watch and do what the bloke does, no problem). I had no issues with acceleration after this.Did the same on my Audi and indeed it was the culprit, totally blocked and after a thorough cleaning with Wynn's EGR-diesel cleaner workes like a charm with a clean acceleration all through the register rpms 😁👌

I have this to do on exactly same model...but have a torn muscle in my shoulder so I'm guessing it will a nightmare 🤣 I'm guessing about 4 hour job ?...but think it will take me quite a bit longer due to being awkward in places nice vid 👍

Hope your shoulder gets better, I wouldn't recommend you do it with a bad shoulder just take your time

Some say if you spend a little time on just the 6 main nuts/studs, you can skip a lot of dismantling - oil feed, intercooler pipe, 6 studs/nuts,, just another version of that ^. :-) You'll need a modified spanner for the bottom nut - but hey ho.

You can jack the car and do it. But that means you have to go on the floor under the car. Please make sure you put Axle stands under
