2010 Mazda CX-9 Fuel Pump Replacement

I could not find a video on this Mazda CX-9 so after I figured it out I decided to show where it is. Remove the seat, it has 4 bolts. The carpet is all ready 90% cut at the factory. Just cut it and folded back. Then the lid is right there. Remove the lid and your down to the pump assembly. Remove the rusted Philips screws, the line, the wire connector and the pump should lift out after you disconnect the line that is in the tank. I’ve read the fuel filter is inside the tank with the pump. Is this accurate?

I do not remember but I would try to push down on the green connector first. If that does not work then the green connector pops up.

My info said under rear seat on fuel tank. But it also said to remove fuel tank.

I take the clamp loose and then put a rag over the line and slowly disconnect it. It will spray but as long as you have the rag covering it you should be ok.

How do you bleed out the fuel?

If the pump is bad there shouldn't be a lot of pressure. I just put a rag over the line and disconnected slowly.

I think this one cycles the pump on and off.

I did not remove the clip yet in the video. It was a fast video how to find the fuel pump for replacement.

@@TheGAutomotiveAndMore I got to that level and couldn't remove the clip on top of the fuel pump assembly and so couldn't access the fuel pump. I don't know how to remove the clip on top of the assembly so I can bring out the fuel pump.

@@tnway I can not remember how to remove that one or I would tell you. But I think it lifts up.

Looks like one of the clips that u separate the 2 open ends and push back.
