Great review mate! I feel Mazda is such a great bang for your buck. I'm always amazed at these cars. As someone who would ideally rather have a Volkswagen Golf but can't afford it, I don't feel in the least that I'm making a sacrifice to opt for the Mazda instead. Zoom Zoom!!

I think it looks amazing, also the people that say it looks ugly is because they're jealous that they don't have it. I'm not being a smart ass or anything, its just that, when you see it in person and sit inside the car, you will fall in love with it. ;)

@Dextersmama mazda 3 is pretty reliable. I had the 2004 and it still runs like new. Make sure you do regular oil changes and follow the factory maintenance schedule. Your Mazda 3 should run well with few maintenance problems.
@jozza81
@jozza81 15 жыл бұрын
I'm not talking about factories mate, the actual design of the focus uses the same chassis and engine as the 3. Ever looked at the back of a budweiser? Chances are that it's not made in germany. Beer can be made the same anywhere, so can cars.

I have a Mazda 3 Grand Touring model and really like the car. Hate the GPS in the 2006 model because it is not user friendly but everything else is great about this car. I prefer this to the E 55 AMG that resides right beside it!

cross shopped Golf, Cruize, 2nd Gen tC. Got MZ3 S with 6speed. I come from VR6s and boosted H4s, so anything in subcompact was great on fuel economy. Main concern was power and handling. MZ3 is clear winner.

I like it too. Plus, the smiley front was done to make the car more aerodynamic and to cool the engine more efficiency. It was done for efficiency, not design.

the smile does stand out on the non black and dark grey colors. I would avoid the bright colors for that reason. It is a very good little car. I'm on my 2nd one. A Great drive!

I have to be honest,i can see every day more and more and more of this new mazda3 2010 ,which proves that people do not care at all about that,also i you see the car in person you do not notice nothing at all,plus i have to say it's a nice car,also you have to put the front License plate there....

Mazda has shortchanged this 2010 redesign in a few areas. The previous Mazda 3's all had fender mounted turn signals. Now, with the redesign, only the S models have turn signals on the side mirrors. The old models used to have a glove box that locked. The new redesign removed this feature, and the glove box is a lot smaller, and when it's opened now, it wobbles cheaply. No more door sill scuff plates, those are gone. The assembly around the auto trans shifter is very cheap looking now.

@Fratty124 Moderately better fuel economy + regular gas rather than premium = lots of money saved. If I could afford a Speed 3 I'd get it in a heartbeat but I can't justify the cost of gas right now for a car with more power than I really need.

Good time to look into a mazda. Toyota knew that its cars were suffering from "quality control issues" during investigations, including rear gas structs, ball joints, etc. GM has recently recalled 1.3 million compact cars.

@AssAndTitties510 Hundais, Kias, probably some Chevy (like Aveo). Plenty of cars don't have standard power locks. AC though is kind of expected nowadays. Civic is an appliance with good resell value and great gas mileage. If that's what you're after - silver Civic or beige Camry are hard to beat ;)

tell that to Europe and to everyone that knows the 3 and the Focus shares the same platform. But the current US Focus is still old generation. The new one coming out will be great. And absolutely better looking than the 3.

That nav screen is ridiculously small. It's good that it's at eye level but you'll have to squint to see what is on the display. I don't care much about the happy face styling as well. Otherwise those hinder an otherwise great car.

I agree, I have a 2007 Mazda 3, and the looks of the car was part of why I bought it. The front end of this 2010 redesign is ugly. I don't like that lower grille happy face thing, and I don't like the pockets where the foglights are. Also, after comparing the new 2010 model to mine, I notice that Mazda has short changed the new car in some areas. Sorry, Mazda, the new look of your car is a deal breaker. When it comes time to buy a new car, I probably will look at something else.

It's not true that Mazda built crappy cars in the 80s. I've known the 87 GT to get over 200,000 miles. I still have my 87 that went over 100,000 with few problems, and time will tell whether this new mazda will last or not..

TRUST ME I had 2 Mazda... a 2002 and a 2004 both bought new and kept 4 years; and THEY SUCK!!! They keep breaking up every 6 months. After 2 1/2yrs my 2004 Mazda 3 Sport was so rusted in the lower inside of the rear doors, that you had a hard time getting them opened if you didn't use them for a couple of days. I sold both of them and bought 2 Fords, much more satisfied. I never would of guessed.... Look around at the Mazda 3 on the road (recent ones) and notice the rust... UNacceptable.
