Pretty honest interview. Especially 3:58, he admits the country was looking at 6-8 million jobs lost back in 2008 (by the way, we had 20 million jobs lost earlier this year, wow) and decided to do what it takes to prop up the economy. Cost him a lot of political capital, turned a lot of people who voted for him against him. Makes sense because doing that was pretty much the opposite of hope and change, opposite of everything he promised. Doing what it took meant propping up huge institutions and rewarding the people who fouled up and caused the financial crisis. So now you have the moral hazard and precedent of rewarding idiotic behavior by important institutions within the system, and putting the burden on everybody else. The rich get richer, the poor get poorer, and this creates a wide schism in society. His solution to that was Obamacare, which was a form of wealth redistribution to address the health needs of poorer Americans. Unfortunately, it wasn't implemented smoothly and the whole idea of socialist wealth redistribution goes against the beliefs of people in this country who either grew up in a free market capitalist system or fled socialist hellholes to be here. But hey, at least he was honest about what it cost him and his party to save the economy. Doing that, and then admitting he had to do that and paying the price, that's what you want in a President. Even if you disagree with his core beliefs, especially all the wealth redistribution stuff (which is amplified 10x now), what he did was presidential.
