Rebecca has always been one of my favourites on X Factor along with Leona Lewis. I am a Eurovision fan and Rebecca would be fantastic representing the UK as she has such an appeal to the rest of Europe and this is in no way of being an insult. She would be a fresh choice which the UK needs at the moment for Eurovision.

When she's nervous she quivers and is part of her appeal and the choice of how she sings which is subdued, as if she feels she can't belt or hold notes long without breaking into a quiver and cracking up the song. So she plays it safe. And also part of her non commercialness, since she's more an intimate and soulful singer, like her shy personality and quivering indicates too. The below song link, Fighting Suspicion, she seems to have it all together and belting more and less quivering. Each to their own though. ok now I have listened to enough of her... she always makes it... her timing is always there... but her voice bottoms out both ways up or down very fast... and she does screw up all the endings... falls out of tone... and an interesting thing, she is a class act in her sophistication, but she is such a statue that they could put her on a 1000ft pylon any time and she would sing her song just the same way, no insurance needed. as if she lacks 'coffre' ... yet born with a talent that allows her to fall in the groove of music. I am not sure but it feels as if her range also keeps her from getting into the flow, as if she is being held all the time. It's a bit painful to listen to, but as I said earlier she always meets it... that 's it meet is the word... she just meets it. SOme one needs to train her to let go, if she her voice does not break that is... if when she lets go her control breaks then that is why she is that way. hmmm! She must remain within that confine. Time will tell as she evolves.

Generally, someone who is approaching the half-century mark has acquired a certain maturity and life experience that makes them more tolerant of dissenting opinions, especially about something as benign as music. If Ms Ferguson was American, my opinion of her voice would be the same. why am i the only one that thinks that her voice is booboo ?? like she's super shaky , she has no control & where i come from , that's not a soulful voice . aretha franklin , diana ross , sam cooke , whitney houston , alicia keys , lauryn hill , marvin gaye , ray charles .. the greats ! are the ones with soulful voices . she has that bs voice that everybody's trying mimic . she's effing gorgeous but i'm just not feeling her voice at all . had she been not as pretty as she is , she wouldn't have even made it past her audition .she gets better as the season progresses but its just ... not good . yikes . & then there's other people who are amazing or at least decent at their audition that are frowned upon & said to have little to no talent & needless to say its usually the black people . where's the talent gone ?

I agree with you Briana Robinson! Coming from a professionally trained, diverse singer. Ive definitley heard better. And I just cant stand her breath control! Her vibrato is all over the place. Not to say potiental isnt there but in my opinion I cant get past the shaky vocals. Its irritating and hard for me to listen to. I really think it sounds like shes trying to mimic the greats! Billy holiday ring a bell? But everyone has their opinion and some people really like this kind of sound. I just happen to not be one of them. So again, I agree!
