2010 VW Passat ESP/ABS/Tyre Fault lights

I have 4 lights all come on the dashboard they all appeared at the same time and I don't have a clue why the car still drives ok has anybody else had issues like this. Also Auto Hold /Tyre Set /ESP/Auto Stop buttons have stopped working.

Yes it was the rear offside ABS sensor replaced it took all faults off.

Thanks for posting this in the comedy section because it really is a grand old joke played by VAG on their customers. I've gone through a dozen wheel sensors now and it still fails every few weeks. As soon as one fails, the ABS/ESP/TCS stops working. I live in a place with heavy rains, ESP has saved me from tons of accidents and I have a potato car that doesn't have a functioning ABS/ESP system most of the time due to faulty wheel sensors.

Start Engine with Accelerator pedal pressed and then rotate wheels full to right and then full steer to left. Hopefully it works to align/clear sensors. Restart engine.

connects the scanner in some conecessionária vw and check the abs sensor which wheel is defective. After this procedure remove the abs sensor in and clean . If the problem persists the sensor was replacing .

So is the ABS sensor inside the wheel? Recently changed my wheel to the spare and this exact fault is occuring. Drives fine apart from this. Gonna change back to the other wheel to confirm even though it's on the limit.

hi thanks for a nice video.I have a golf 5 2006. not long time ago came ESP warning lamp on shows on speedmeter. I bought a Code Reader Auto Diagnostic Scanner, (2015.7.18 Version D900 CANBUS OBD2 Live Data Code Reader Auto Diagnostic Scanner )but no error code find on screen screen. and the rare thing is that the Only ESP worning lamp is on, not ASB or other light are warning on.did you have any experience with this?Thanks again.

There is a ESP button on your dashboard ( at least on my Passat b5.5 there is). If you press the button it should disable the ESP (and the ESP warning lights stays on all the time). Simply press the button and should fix the problem (if that is not the problem, check your fuses).

ABS wheel sensor has gone (there are 4 on the car in total, one at each wheel) between £15-45 to replace +labour

Fill up your tyres to 36 psi and reset the tyre presure, thank me latter

You are wrong the 4 light meaning abs fault. If it's only the tyre pressure right you are right.

Samuel Badillo Yes, but I'm not sure what was the problem, the problem was between the brake booster, master cylinder, and the vacuum pump hose. I replaced vacuum pump, master cylinder, brake booster, and that hose as well. But if have the same problem try to replace the vacuum pump hose, because I believe that was my problem, unfortunately it was the last thing that I did.

@james bryant That is simply the auto hold function which helps you to brake while you are on slopes. Next time please try to read the car user manual, it helps you to save a lot.

I had the same problem a year ago. I replace the rear two and the issue was resolved. It seems I should have replaced all 4 because, I'm getting the same issue again. By the way, they are very easy replace and cost about $60 each in US

$60 + labor is not inexpensive. The worst part is the frequent trips to garage to fix this thing.. it fails every few weeks.

Same problem. After a scan, found front driver side sensor was bad. Error code cleared as soon the sensor was replaced. Hope this helps

You have to determine which abs sensor is faulty there is one for each wheel I took it to a local garage put his laptop on charged me £20 got the part myself fitted it 10min job sensor was £40.
