007 - The Early Childhood of Prophet Muhammad SAW We have little information with regards to this first 30, 40 years of his life. - f we were to gather the first 53 years of his life compared to the last 10, it would be less than half. - Of these 53 years, most of the information begins after 40 years i.e. when he became a prophet. - And indeed this is logical - but one thing we believe as Muslims: anything that we need to know, Allah must have preserved it. ______________ From Aminah to Halimah After Birth his mother gave him to be raised in the desert and there were many reasons - 1. Raised in a pure and healthy environment - The infant mortality was very high back then (and even recently i.e. up to 100 years ago) - So to preserve and protect the child, they removed him from congregation and civilization so that there is only a few people interacting with the child - 2. Build stamina in the child and make them adjusted to a rough life. - Even though life in Makkah was very tough, they wanted to raise their child in a harder environment so they become accustomed and can adapt easily to the hardships of Makkah. - Certainly children adapt much more easily than adults - They wanted their children to live under difficulty at a young age so Makkah appears like luxury. - 3. Growing up in a desert away from the family will avoid the pampering relatives do - Every parent knows that no matter how strict you are with your children, uncles, aunts, and grandparents will pamper your child. - So this was done to raise the child in a disciplined environment. - 4. The tribes that raise the children are known for their fluency in Arabic - The city language was viewed as corrupted and changed. - There were word loans from other cultures. - This doesn't occur in the deserts. - The most famous tribe was Bani Sa'd ibn Bakr and it was this tribe that took care of the Prophet PBUH. In one authentic hadith, the Prophet PBUH was asked, "Tell us about yourself." He said, "I am the du'a of my father, Ibrahim; and I am the glad news of my brother, Isa; and I was foster cared by Bani Sa'd ibn Bakr." (Side point: Some Muslim theologians say that the references to the 'good news' [gospel] that Jesus makes in New Testament is actually as Allah and the Prophet PBUH says is Prophet Muhammad PBUH himself. "There is going to be a prophet after me, his name is Ahmad." [61:6]) Halimah al-Sa'diyah, the famous foster mother of the Prophet PBUH. - How she got the Prophet Muhammed (SAW) - Every few months the tribe of Bani Sa’d ibn Bakr would go into Makkah and pick up the elite children (quraysh) - It basically like hiring a nanny - if they like you they choose u - Her and her husband were suffering form poverty so they wanted to take in a child for money - This time they went and they heard about a child of Amiminah - They knew the boy was an orphan and that they would not get much money from taking him in - No one wanted the “Orphan child” - By the end of the week - all of Halimah’s friends had been picked to take care of a child except for here - She felt embarrassed so the husband said "Why don't you take the orphan child? Perhaps Allah will bless us through him." - this shows that the couple had good hearts. - Miracles of Prophet PBUH - Old goat that stopped producing milk began again - Old mount they were riding that became the fastest mount Generally speaking, this foster care lasted two years. During these two years, the blessings that Halimah witnessed in her household were so many that she was scared of losing the Prophet PBUH, so she invented 100 excuses to extend the contract - and Aminah agreed. It was during this second phase of the foster care that the famous incident of the Opening of the Heart of the Prophet PBUH happened. ______________ The Incident of the Opening of the Heart Anas ibn Malik related: "Jibril came to the Prophet PBUH when he was 4 years old. The other children got scared and ran away but the Prophet PBUH stood his ground. Jibril came and overpowered him." - this shows the bravery and the determination of the Prophet PBUH. "And Jibril forced him onto the ground and opened his chest, and took his heart out. And he took out a black portion from the heart and threw it away. And Jibril said, 'This is shaytan's portion that he had in you.'" - Indeed we know that shaytan pricks any new born baby out of jealousy and anger. - And the Prophet PBUH said, "This is why babies cry when they come out of the womb." - Shaytan wants to harm the child as soon as it comes out - this is the hatred of shaytan. - Allah creates the child pure, but shaytan begins the corruption process from, not day one, but minute one. - This causes the black spot in our heart - perhaps this is where the waswas comes from. - But remember, shaytan can never control us or force us - So this was cut off from the Prophet PBUH at 4 years old. So the foster brother and Shayma ran away, screaming, "Our brother has been killed!" So Halimah runs outside and finds the Prophet PBUH sitting with a pale face. Subhan'Allah, notice he isn't screaming, crying, or wailing - this shows how brave he was even at a young age. He is sitting there with fear and terror but not screaming. And when they saw him, they saw the lines on his chest. (Anas ibn Malik said, "I could see the traces on his chest." And this is Anas relating when the Prophet PBUH was around 60. And notice, if Allah willed, He didn't need to leave a line - it could have easily been a clean cut. But Allah wants to demonstrate that something physical happened. And there was a physical line on the chest of the Prophet PBUH.)

May Allah reward the shaikh and those who worked to publish this lecture. I just have a note here: If that piece in our hearts is the means of which the shayateen whisper to us, then the qareen (shaytan assigned) of the Prophet pbuh who converted wouldn't have been able to whisper the good things to the prophet, would he? Of course Allah allowed the Prophet to see things which we are not allowed to and Allah knows best.

I AM HAVING HARD TIME TO PROCESS SHAITAN GOT CLOSE TO OUR BELOVED PROPHET (PBUH), AND HOW SHAITAN ACCEPTS ISLAM, WHEN ALLAH SAYS, SHAITN IS OUR NO 1 ENEMY? THIS SEEMS THE ENEMY OF ISLAM INSERTED TO THE AUTHENTIC HADITHS, I USE TO HEAR FROM MY DADDY THAT, THE ENEMY OF ISLAM CORRUPTED MANY HADITHS AND AS WE SPEAK PUTTING MIGHTY EFFORTS TO CORRUPT US AND DIVIDE MUSLIMS...........PERIOD

GiveMeAbreak Please every man has a qareen even the prophet PBUH. But the prophet PBUH is special because the clot was removed that allowed for the qareen to say evil things, so now it can only say good things

all shayateen are jinns, there are believing & disbelieving jinns, "the shaytaan" is the head of these jinns who refused to prostate in front of Adam. who is our greatest enemy. All the jinns have free will like us, some of them chose to join the army of shaytaan. As for the Qareen of Prophet, He is "The Prophet" plus with the help of Allah swt he was able to overpower him. I hope it makes sense.

Assalamualaikum.... As I'm listen to the seerah in a chronologically as done by sheikh dr. Yasir kadhi, one thing contradicts, in pt no. 3, (around 21st minute or so) as he mentions two early books of seerah is ibn ishaq and ibn hisham but in this lecture i.e pt 7 (around 41st minute) he says two early books are ibn ishaq and ibn sa'ad... I saw my notes, I re-listened part 3 to see if ibn sa'ad is mentioned... I couldn't find... Please guide me on this....

I don't know how to answer your question. But I wanna mention a possibility. Many times sheikh makes verbal mistakes. Means he makes mistakes and often corrects it after realization. I've been watching seerah lectures and I've noticed that. And he's a human and sometimes he doesn't realize. So maybe it's just a mistake and not a contradiction. However, you can clarify it from other sources.
