Because the man on third left the base to tend to the fight he was called out. I learn more from these fight clips than watching the damn games.

Baltimore hasn't been able to drop an 8 spot on anyone since the 90s. They are garbage and this game was as good as over.
@lethrneck410 жыл бұрын
i give gregg credit he stood his ground and tried to deck ortiz..all ortiz did was push back....also give gregg credit for calling ortiz out for watching every hit...and the last game of the season in 2011, the orioles beat the red sox to take away their playoff spot haha
@lethrneck410 жыл бұрын
joey ehret yeah after finishing last in 2012 and missing the playoffs for 3 straight years, wow ya won a World Series ,,,2014 is back to normal for the sox

meggwon Been watching BB since the mid 80s, I think things have been rather calm in comparison. Back then, guys used to swing bats at each other, not just slaps.

I feel like Gregg started the fight saying, "Run down to first base". Even though some people think that's not the reason, in my opinion, according to rampage8alldavis, that could be mocking on how he could run. That's when David Ortiz had blew the fuse,

To This Day, BIG PAPI fears NOBODY! ALL YOU HATERS stick it!
@rockndude8711 жыл бұрын
I'm a diehard Orioles fan but you can't keep throwing fastballs like that so close to a batter and not expect to get him pissed off at you. Ortiz was standing up for himself and I applaud him for it. He shouldn't have to be taking pitches like that without saying something.
@FlyingGold9 жыл бұрын

@zuruck111 жыл бұрын
We must have watched different videos because Gregg certainly did not mind whatever Ortiz was doing.
@Jacobtherock1011 жыл бұрын
All pitchers have every right to pitch inside, and whenever David Ortiz hits the ball, he never starts immediately running, he just stands at the plate and watches it.Kevin Gregg did not deserve to get ejected.In MLB, you can't stand and embrace your swing, you're just going to start some serious melee, and for Ortiz to come out to Gregg and fight him is not impressive, it's humiliating for himself and his team.
@LilGille91311 жыл бұрын
dang did u see matt wieters push poppy?

my exact thought!
@nascarfanatic24259 жыл бұрын
On a side note: I'm not in agreement that Papi swung at a pitch on a 3-0 count. Ortiz could've gotten a free base. If nothing else, that'd only be strike 1.
@chrisantodagostino638311 жыл бұрын
lol. i've never seen big papi run that fast but when he ran fast, it was toward gregg apperently.

Why do the benches have to clear every time? I've never understood why when a couple players get in a scrap, the rest of the team has to try to get themselves in trouble as well...
Both of them certainly held their own.. but this was funny while watching live.

@bipblake11 жыл бұрын
Ooopps My mistake.I misunderstood ya.No,had he been hit by a pitch,yea then I would be pissed to.But I was referring to this one at bat here.I'm from the old school.Ya see ball,hit ball,& then ya run.Its called having pride & respect for the game,your uniform & your team.He just stood there,& that's wrong.That was all I was saying.You should run it out,cos that's the way the game is taught,& should be played.I have nothing against Ortiz.But I do have something against a half ass effort.No excuse
@sammg200011 жыл бұрын
hahaha this is the fastest david ortiz has ever run in his life

@JoltinDjango11 жыл бұрын
I preface this by saying that I'm a Red Sox fan: Ortiz pussed out by going for the shove first, and then he whiffed on his first punch! If he's going to charge the mound ... he needs to consult some Bruins players for some pointers!
