Can't tell you how much trouble you're video saved me. I been wrestling around with this motor for a couple hours, then I saw your video and the THE TWO SCREWS HOLDING THE SHROUD!! It would not come out without the shroud being removed first. So thank you! No more cussing going back in..

You might find it funny, or not. I replaced the blower with a blower from O'Reilly auto, closed everything up. Tested everything and it works, but damn aftermarket blower wasn't properly balanced so it rattles like crazy when run on high. All other speeds are OK. Probably gonna do it all again because it's loud!

Fantastic job on the tutorial!! Followed your process and it worked out flawlessly. If I can add anything, I suggest removing the back screw first. Holding the motor up and taking out the back screw was fun. I did the voltage check and it showed faulty motor. Changed it out and it's working perfectly now.

Thank you so much! Just had to do the A/C evaporator (pull whole dash and HVAC box) While I was there, I figured I would save me some trouble and do the heater core and blower motor while at it. Got it all back together......new blower motor was bad! Sooooooooo PISSED! Was able to plug I. The old one and saw it worked. Thanks to your video, I didn't have to pull the whole dash again. Put the old one back in and, PRESTO, blower works. Thank you Thank you Thank you! I second the gentleman above, remove that back screw first and put it in last.

Fixen to to get fixing. Blower motor stopped working some time ago. Could hit the air box and get it going for awhile but now it’s done. Thanks for the video. It will save a lot of head scratching.

Did the whole fix did not have electrical tester but I got cold and hot just no fan but this did not resolve my issue gushed for blower under hood is fine any tips ??

Why couldn't you just leave the shroud in place and just take out the 3 Torx screws to remove the blower motor? Seems you could take it out without all the other hassle if that's the case.

Sticking those meter prongs in the plug can make them loose though. Careful about that part.

If I ever meet the engineer who designed that back screw location, our encounter with be unhealthy for both of us. Try getting that screw out when you're 70! Before I fight it back in I'm going to pull the fender well shield and see if it's possible to get a hole saw under that screw location and bore a hole large enough through the floorboard to get a long T20 in there to that screw. Sealing the hole will be cake. Update: I just finished this task in a 2011. I'll probably buy a new truck before I do it again. OMG what a tedious PITA. Don't order your fan motor replacement until you place your order for this tool kit!!!! (GEARWRENCH 35 Piece 1/4" Drive MicroDriver Set - 85035) You won't need but three items from it but you WILL need them. I did not check out the "drilling a hole" option I mentioned in the first comment but I would definitely check it out before I did another one of these! Another tip: when you have to put the far back screw in take a small piece of clay or something like it and wrap it around where the screw and the T-20 splines mate. Then you can start that back screw easier and just keep cranking until it's tight. (Do all of the other screws first but back off them enough to let in a bit of slack to make the alignment of the back hole easier.) Another tip: shove something you can lay something soft on up against the running board so you can lay down with your head and shoulders on the floorboard. If you don't you'll just keep sliding off the running board.

I had the same hateful thoughts about the Ford engineer. Also, I rigged up a piece of plywood that sat on the doorsill on one side and a sawhorse on the other so I could more comfortably lay under the dashboard to do this horrible job. I'm not far behind you in age and I have a rule that I don't do under dash work anymore. This was an exception for a friend and I should have said no.

You could try but I wouldn't recommend it for as easily as it comes out

To take blower motor out ..no don't have to take ecm module out. At least on 2010 f 450, and fan motor twist in /locks... no screws

My voltmeter showing 9.14 on first three settings then goes to 10 11, 13.6 on high speed. Blower should still blow correct. Do I have a bad controller and a bad blower

You could use some dry graphite lube if you took it apart or some electronics grease
