Idk these cars are kinda a pain. Motor blows and gets a recall for it. Rubber Transmission lines breaking because they are too short and crack. And that’s because me and my dad stay on top of maintenance.

Totally awesome video. short and straight to the point no bs no obnoxious background music. would have been even better if you remove / drop down the engine cover on that side of the vehicle to access the transmission drain plug instead of cutting. but overall, awesome video. thank you so much for showing us how this DIY. gears have been shifting slowly recently so i went to grab some fluid, didn’t realize she had to be jacked up tho. is it unsafe to do this without draining the excess through the bolt ?
@danarello25639 ай бұрын
Excellent video. The main problem with my 2015 sonata is that I have no clue how or where to put my floor jack on the undercarriage to safely jack up the vehicle. I have seen an older video where he rigged up 2 X 4s along the sides under the doorjam... but why is that necessary?
@MrRangerZr17 ай бұрын
Check the owner's manual, it should show you the jacking points
@factionfx17 күн бұрын
You jack all these cars on the pinch welds. they will be near the tires. there are special adapters for jacks that have a small trough in them for the pinch welds.

Thanks for the video.few quick questions ; - people recommend to put same amount of fluid comes out , is this not correct ? - I’ve been told to buy and use the fluid from Hyundai Dealer ? - If you haven’t changed the fluid every 40-50K miles regularly , never change it again , leave it alone , is this correct ?

What are the two bolts/rivets that hold the front of the splash guard up? The ones that are just under the front air dam/radiator shield. Looks like a bracket, mine are missing.

Do you have to let the transmission reach a certain temperature before you remove the check plug?
@ZNA03 Жыл бұрын
Thanks! Great video. Solid visuals to help locate everything and follow the process. You didn't mention if the fill hole needs to be open when checking the level but I noticed the funnel still inserted as you went to show the location of the fluid level viewing port. Quality over quantity in this video! New sub for sure.

Is the whole trans fluid flushed this way? What about the fluid in the torque converter?
@MrRangerZr19 ай бұрын
Can't get everything out. And the term "flush" is not to be used with transmissions. Flushing transmissions will destroy them. Drain and fill like in this video is all that's needed.
@josea2858 ай бұрын
can't you technically drive it for a minute then drain it again so all the fluid comes out?
@artsnow88727 ай бұрын
The torque converter holds some fluid. To give the new fluid a chance to circulate into the torque converter, I'd drive it several hundred miles, and then drain and fill, again. Years ago, some torque converters came from the manufacturer with a drain plug. Alas, no more!@@josea285
