Keep those videos coming!!... I have a question I replaced my vacuum pump but have you ever heard of oil in the vacuum lines because after I replaced my vacuum pump my brake booster went out as well and i had oil in my brake booster and then in the battery tray there's a vacuum Reservoir attached to the bottom of battery tray there was oil all inside i did drain the oil.....do you know if you have to replace all the vacuum lines because I can't find anything anybody talking about it... I did let the vacuum lines drain out the leftover oil that was dripping out of them I don't know if this is going to affect my brake booster if i use the same vacuum lines..... Thank you Arthur

Awesome Channel very informative I just replaced my vacuum pump on my 2016 6.7 liter diesel truck I have a question I was putting on my new vacuum pump and then I didn't have a torque wrench but I tighten them by hand I think I went over the 89 inch ft pounds maybe to tight...... from your experience what would happen if I over tighten them and do I need to go back and loosen the bolts and buy me a torque wrench and retighten them to the torque specifications or should I leave it alone..... Thanks..... Arthur

great informative vid! I am a little unclear on the tensioner/belt part....does the tensioner just unbolt and relive pressure of the belt?
@AutomedicGarage
@AutomedicGarage 2 жыл бұрын
Yes, tensioner places tension on the serpentine belt. You relieve the tension by placing a 3/8 ratchet or breaker bar in the square hole and pry it in the direction to relieve tension off the belt then slide the belt off.

Got my seal and new vacuum lines in the mail today about to see how loose those bolts are on the pump. Just a question for y'all out there, were your vacuum lines as brittle as mine? They are crumbling, up behind the coolant rez. on mine

I have not seen them that way before.
@Johnny3three
@Johnny3three Жыл бұрын
@@AutomedicGarage ok that's why I asked. Not brittle down by the pump only brittle up by the reservoir bottle. Must've gotten hot at some point. Just wanted to make sure the lines weren't crap. Don't think that's the case. Seems like engine degreaser or heat got on them

How the hell did you get to the bottom two? I sat for atleast 10 min thinking of a way not to take out anything else. I heard you say the one on the passenger side you got from the bottom. But the driver side seems difficult to get without taking the fan shroud off
@AutomedicGarage
@AutomedicGarage 3 жыл бұрын
It wasn’t bad. Passenger side lower was the worst. Milwaukee m12 fuel ratchet did the job just fine with a wobble socket. I’m assuming your referring to the driver side lower fan bracket bolt.
@onecleanplatinum8434
@onecleanplatinum8434 3 жыл бұрын
@@AutomedicGarage yes that’s the one. Looks like I’m gonna have to invest in one then lol. I got to the passenger bottom one but i could barely get a bite on it to break it loose. Hardly any room to get leverage. The driver side is a bare. I’ll be trying again next weekend. Thanks for the reply. Your video helped a ton 🤜🤛

Hello, the brakes on my truck were working fine before we replaced the fuel system, after we put everything back together, the brake pedal is hard and there’s no vacuum coming out of the pump, we DID NOT install the gasket bc the pump has a O-ring flat type of gasket on it, could that be the reason of why were not getting any vacuum?

No it’s usually in fine shape, my view is if you’ve gotten far enough into that t to access all the bolts why not replace the gasket and know 100% it’s right.
