Quick Question. I have a 2012 Cayenne. are the Ceramic or something else. I dont know which brakes to buy. Thanks for your help.
@WorkingWithWimberley6 ай бұрын
@@TheeChurchGuitarist Which trim level do you have? Base, S, Turbo or S Hybrid? I’m pretty sure your brake pads are ceramic. Unfortunately Porsche used different sized rotors based on the trim. I had to take them off the car first and measure them to make sure I ordered the right ones.

Thank you for the video! I'm about to order parts for my 2013. I've read there is a wear sensor on each corner. Is that true? Just making sure, because my BMWs have always had just one on the front and one on the rear.
@WorkingWithWimberleyАй бұрын
@@mikevanamburgh4737 To be honest, I don’t know. I only removed the fronts. I didn’t get into the rears at all.

@WorkingWithWimberley did they both have a sensor up front?
@WorkingWithWimberleyАй бұрын
@ Yes they did. One sensor on the driver side and one on the passenger side. The sensors were included with the pads.

We used a pad and rotor kit by Power Stop that we ordered off RockAuto.com I don't know which brakes you need. Porsche used so many different brakes on this car, I removed the old rotors and measured them before I ordered a new set because I couldn't tell which ones to buy.

Great video! I recently did a 2014 Base for a customer, and you have to make sure you have the correct brake rotor diameters because it effects the pads also. The rotors can be 350mm or 360mm. on the base model, and the pads will reflect that as well.
@WorkingWithWimberley9 ай бұрын
Thanks! You are correct. I actually removed and measured the rotor before we ordered the new parts.
@marcsmith38819 ай бұрын
@@WorkingWithWimberley That was smart. My customer told me they were 350mm and was wrong causing a headache, but he covered all of the additional costs.

@@marcsmith3881 That’s good. We couldn’t figure out which ones were correct online. Measuring was the only sure way.

@@WorkingWithWimberleyBTW, how would you know rotor replacement is needed? My 2017 Cayenne S has 59000 miles.
@WorkingWithWimberley4 ай бұрын
@@opusone There would be two ways of knowing. If during braking you have a vibration in the steering wheel, your rotors may need to be replaced. And if you have a lip around the outside edge of the rotor, that means the pads have worn down the rotor and it may need to be replaced.

Are there differences for 2018 Cayenne Platinum
@WorkingWithWimberley2 жыл бұрын
I’m not sure. Porsche used a lot of different brake set ups, even for the 2017. There were different rotor sizes and pads. I had to physically measure the rotors to make sure we purchased the correct ones.
