Porsche Cayenne Front Brake Pad & Rotor Replacement (2003-2010 Porsche 955/957 Cayenne)

►The first-generation 955/957 Porsche Cayenne is a heavy SUV; there's no way around it. Because of this, Porsche Cayenne brake pad replacement and brake rotor replacement are two of the most common jobs completed on this chassis.

@@fcpeuroDid You open the brake fluid tank before retracting the brake pistons? Shouldn’t one bleed some brake fluid by the valves on the calipers instead?

I would open bleeder valve to release fluid from calipers to ensure that old contaminated fluid is not forced further into the hydraulic system

Another great Cayenne video - but your brakes are different from mine... My 957 (Cayenne GTS) does not require the removal of the calipers to change the pads - just pull a few pins, and I can pull the sensors and pads, compress the pistons, and put in new pads and replace the sensors - then replace the pins. Don't forget to put anti-seize on the pins - first time was a pain to remove, and I had to hammer and rod to press out the caliper pins - much to the amusement of the neighbors watching me pound on a Porsche. Not removing the calipers should make it fairly easy to swap pads at the track. I've not replaced the rotors - mine are still in great shape. When I end up replacing them, I intend to go for slotted rotors, as the stock pads/rotors/fluid were not up to the demands of track day, and had terrible fade after a few laps.

I like these videos but that. Sensor doesn't come off like that you broke it when you put pliers to it .prying it from the control arm is wrong . You push in the tab and pull the bottom plug half from the connection ,it has a small lip before the wires

Fun fact: Cayenne 955/957 had monster Brembo 6 piston front calipers and 4 piston rears. Not so fun fact: rear calipers use triple square bolts that are a bastard to get to.
