I just fixed this issue in ten minutes, without costing me a dime!!! Before you replace the switch, that the two screws off of the circuit board, that is on the switch. Pop circuit board off, and there are 4 prongs. I noticed that one of the prongs was ever so slightly bent lower that the others. So I thought, hmm I wonder if it’s no longer touching the board and making the connection. So I carefully bent it up a bit. Put together, reinstalled and BOOM! FIXED!! As a 38 year old single mom, I was pretty stoked to figure this out, without the help of a man, lol.

That's very admirable of you that would be what we call terminal fretting or some kind of minor connection issue I guess without the help of a man can be a great feeling and then at the same time depending on the reason why it wasn't without the help of a man it could be bad just all depends on the situation right 99.9% of the time it's going to be replacing the switch I'm glad you did what you did and figure that out for yourself though every situation obviously is not going to be the same but I hope this video did something for you to point you in the right direction because you're obviously here hope you have a great night

Awesome, I had a feeling there was a simpler fix. One day wipers on them selves next day off. I noticed a difference in hot and cold days also I’ve tapped it with something sold and would fix problem. Now to find the circuit board

I just tried, took it apart and all 4 of my prongs were even, but I pulled them out a little anyway. Put it back together and still having same intermitting wiper problem when switch is off. Wish it worked for me but no a no go.

Part of the problem is manufacturers are making everything too dang complicated. People want all these gadgets and features and we see that having all that stuff leads to more problems.

@unclejerm7692 Жыл бұрын
its really not bad at all. On my 2017 I didn't even need to remove the two bolts on the lower half - or even pull out the big plastic piece under that! Just pop loose the top half and make sure you got a decent length T10. I never did it before and in 5 minutes I had the old switch out. But its dumb that it happening in the first place and Ford never fixed it all the years that this same model ran.

I know this video is old but my ex is having this problem with her 16 explorer. I changed the switch and it’s still doing the same thing. It’s like the wipers are stuck on the lowest mode and will not shut off completely. I really don’t see how it could be anything but the switch, I’m thinking maybe I just got a bad switch from the parts store. I even took the fuse out the auto sense thinking maybe it was bad and sensing light rain all the time.

Great video, I subscribed :) I'll hoping I can ask you a ❓ if that's okay. I also have a 2013 Ford Explorer XLT. The front wipers behave perfectly normal. So no worries with them. They only turn on when I turn them on. However, every time I start the Explorer up, the rear wiper starts and dispenses windshield wiper fluid. As if I had rotated the switch backward for a rear windshield wiper clean but I'm not. The switch is in the OFF position. Then once it goes through the cleaning b cycle, wiper keeps going intermittently. It does not dispense any more fluid, just keeps going intermittently. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thx!! 🙏

@@frisky571 hey so that was last year so it was the windshield wiper motor that was bad, so I removed it and put in a new one and it stop spraying everytime I turned on the wipers. Also the wiper motor was so bad that water went inside the circuit board and always turned on the wipers and causes shorts and almost burned my fuse box. When I removed the wiper motor it was very hot and humid the motor. Cheers
