Good info for new people. 1 critique is there were more ads in this video than probably any video I’ve watched on KZbin the past 15 years. It takes away from the educational content when there are 2 ads every 2 mins. Quite frustrating. Aside from the supercharged ads, good info for new drivers or those interested (if they stick around and can focus around all the ads lol)!

With something as critical and typically under maintained as transfer cases are, and seeing the condition of the old fluid, I would probably change it again in a few days. That would ensure all the old stuff is completely out of all the parts that require lubrication fluid. It’s easy and not that much money, but then again I am OCD and change engine oil, engine filters, air filter, cabin air filter, both fuel filters, both differential fluids, transfer case and transmission fluids every 5 thousand miles. I am retired and bored so I guess that plays into it as well. I don’t do my coolant fluids but every 10 thousand miles tho. 😅 Thanks for the video.

Probably the easiest and cheapest service one can do but many choose not to. 👍

I like lok-tites 545, its a hydraulic sealant. Used it in the marine world for years with no trouble.

Any reason why you don’t run a synthetic oil. I can see by your videos that you keep up on maintenance. Was just curious

@@gkgunit55 I felt more comfortable with OEM fluids this round. Not really opposed to synthetic but transmissions in general are pickier with fluids than engines
