2011-2024 GSX-R 600/750 Rear Wheel Removal/Install HOW TO!

This video explains and demonstrates how to take of and install the rear wheel on a 2011-2024 Suzuki GSX-R 600 and 750 motorcycles.
Any motorcycle owner should be able to do the minimal maintenance on his or her motorcycle. We are here to help!
The tools used in the video are a half inch ratchet, 32mm socket, a dead blow hammer, and a torque wrench. These tools can all be purchased new for under $60 at harbor freight. If you are taking your tires off to get it changed the tools will pay for themselves the first use!

Thanks. I’ll try that lifting with foot trick. I wonder what endurance racers do for a fast rear wheel change? I find it all a struggle with spacers and that floating caliper mount. Will try again! Thanks 🙏

Super defeating how easy you just made it look to get that caliper on while lining up the axle...lol. For the life of me I cannot get my caliper to slide in where it needs to...that little notch is giving me hell. I can only get it on about 1/3 of the way and it gets stuck too fat. Ive tried making sure the wheel is straight I can't figure it out

Get the wheel in position and support it while the caliper is inside the wheel once the wheel is up its very easy to slide the caliper inside the notch. Best I can explain it here

@@motomigos so turns out my issue was the piston wasn't compressed. I couldn't see it as I didn't know to look for it lol Why the heck do none of these videos mention the piston being a potential issue? Finally got that bled and it went right on as expected 🤣

If you stick a flat head between the pads you can seperate the pads easily but 99% of the time I out it on how I take it off

@@jordanwelsh5710big flathead in between the brake pad closest to the piston and it doesn’t take much pressure to decompress them. go slow and you’ll be fine

I have added another step a few times, usually followed by swearing typically with the caliper when i end up removing some paint from the wheels, adding to the uniqueness 😏🙃🥴

Thanks so much, just removed the wheel on my Gsr750, following your instructions, the only difference was, I had to remove the speed sensor on mine. Great easy and simple thank you. Should I copper grease the slide bar when I put it back in?

Using some type of light grease is a good idea. White lithium is what I generally use. I dont know enough about copper grease to speak on it but galvanic corrosion can happen because the bearing races are steel

Hey man! Thank you for your explanation. I'm just about to remove my rear wheel. Last time i had problems removing the calliper. Isn't it possible to remove it after the Axle is out before dropping the wheel a little bit? i got a few scratches in my rim last time :( greetings from germany!

You have to pull the wheel back slightly to get the caliper out. Everything's a tight fit in motorcycles...

Hi, quick question aren't you suppose to line up the tensioner of your chain?

If you adjust them yes. If you keep the locking nut tight and do not adjust then it does not need adjusted.

Spreqd thr brake pads with a flat head screw driver. Put the caliper in postion inside the the groove. Lift wheel.
