How To Suzuki GSXR Rear Wheel Remove, Balance and Install.

Suzuki GSXR Rear Wheel Remove balance and Install. This will show you How to remove your motorcycle rear wheel. Change your tire and balance your motorcycle wheel then install. This was done on my 2011 GSXR 1000. This will work on must sport bikes.
Tools Needed
36 mm socket
1/2 inch drive.
Torque on rear axle nut. 72.5. foot pounds

Thanks for this, followed this for a GSR750 and worked a treat. Got a flat tyre and no one seems to do mobile tyre fitting for a motorbike.. managed to take my wheel to a fitter instead 👌🏻

Gday from Australia. I have the same bike replacing my original rear tyre from 190 50. To a 190 55. For a bit more side wall. Apparently they tip into corners a lot more ezy. Enjoy your bike I love mine.

So I just had to pull my wheel off. I got everything back together and tighten the Alxe nut down to 72. But my back tire feels stiff to spin. When I loose the axle nut to like 40-60 ft lbs it feels very smooth and easy to spin. Is it normal to be alittle stiff when tighten to spec? Spacers and everything are in the correct placr

Great question Mike, 1000 will go threw tires. I am not that hard on my bike. Hell of a ride. I had an 2017 R1 with 2100 miles on the rear tire the other day. . Super Bikes eat tires. These bike are 180 HP and as high as 2oo HP And better.

depends on how you ride. I usually only get about 5000 miles on a rear tire. Just changed one out with only 4000 miles. Metal band showing all the way around. Crazy!

Happy to help. My rear is a 36 mm and on the front is a 22 mm bolt on the right side of my bike. I went out in my garage and actually took a look. I hope that helps. Whoever came up with the rear caliper mounting business for the 08-11 gsxrs was smoking crack. It is literally impossible to open the pads and slide the rotor in without rubbing/dropping one of the spacers. Always takes me literally hours just to get the rear axle back through and everything mounted correctly on my 2008. Still better than paying a shop $300 to do it, though.

just a heads up, the reason the axle nut was so tight is because you had the axle in the wrong way. axle nut always goes caliper side otherwise it over tightens itself and can cause your chain to come loose, snap the axle or even strip the nut. i only know this because i mad the mistake myself..
