2011 Acura ZDX Review

@bradleyg5, Who ever said it was designed for people who needed space? There's the MDX for those people, like you mentioned. This car makes A LOT of sense for people who need/want something like this.

dude my friend has this car... firstly he blacked out the "bucktooth" grill and the had the back tail lights sent from japan...then he got 22" lexani rims..black on black of course. the car is black already so he only left the chrome around the windows and the acura insignia on the front and back so people wouldnt know what it is lol.... then he got two 12" JL audio W6's put in the floor of the trunk area with a 2800 watt amp... we drive around fast it handles snow its an all around BEAST.

Its rare something modern like this comes along reminds me of the Pontiac Transport as the last ultra modern design although that was 20 years ago. Car designs since then haven't been forward thinking at all, its either been been either subtle lines or retro car styling, this is different.

@davidhalifax Crosstour is nothing like the ZDX, they're based on totally separate platforms and until you've driven one I would highly recommend you keep the "not very practical" comment silent...I've driven one, and I've talked to several people at dealerships who have driven one and once they return they love it...may not be as spacious as a Pilot or MDX, but it drives like an Accord, and has similar cargo space to that of a CR-V.

damn soccer moms would rather make their 'friends' jealous and envious with an X6 or GLA, unreliable money pit liability. versus buying one the greatest designs ever in auto history. the woman designer did good, but it needed a V8 for the guys. Its hard to justify for the same used price, I could get 375hp LR4 or 500+hp Cayenne Turbo. Youd literally pay for looks & reliability over prestige & power, most guys, & girls apparently, would prefer power.

@Berus7777 "hello Japan" .........The ZDX was the first Acura designed in Acura's design studio located at Torrance in Southern California, designed by Michelle Christensen. It is also the first Acura to be completely built in North America.

I plan on riding in a ZDX on 11/23/2013, though I don't know if I can wait that long... Plus it may be hard to find one then, so I may move that date up to 8/31/2013. What do you think? Ride in one in August, or for my 21st birthday? (my birthday is Christmas so dealership's closed) July 26, 2013 1:11 am.

@PoppinKhorn doesn't have the re-sale or reliability of a Honda..and if you really want to get into it...you can just get a fully loaded Murano which is the exact same thing anyways, with it's horrible blindspots, under-rated HP, lack of performance, and crappy cargo space and save yourself $10K

Seriously... this is a four-door passenger car designed to give more space than its sedan counterparts. Ron's point about the back seat is right on target: HOW THE HELL is it that the back seat won't comfortably accomodate an adult passenger larger than 5'6"? HELLO, JAPAN? American men are larger than that, and WE AIN'T GETTIN' SMALLER.

@bradleyg5 odd, people like you said the same thing about a $90K 3.0 V6 "supercar" when Acura released the NSX...and yet 20 years later people still WANT that car...then there's the X6..with similar dimensions which costs about $20K more or the panamera over the Cayenne, and yet people still buy the Panamera...your point is moot

Great, so you're telling me that Japan has now established so much dominance in auto design that we ourselves are designing cars that are too small for our own citizens. Just great. I guess I'll go down to the hospital and have them lop off 4" from my spine and 3" from my legs so that I can "enjoy" these wonderful designs as they are meant to be.

2013 is the last model year for ZDX. Honda will stop producing this vehicle this year due to poor sales. They may not have even broke even in their investment for this car. Get one before it's gone.

Horrible car by Acura, not sure what they were thinking when they made that thing, but it isn't selling at all, and will probably be discontinued within the next year or two. Then maybe, they can make a nice high performance coupe again.
