it's not bulletproof, it just hasn't got turbo so it has less problems

I love that wheel... I would like to get one for my 2012... I don't hate my N20 but hearing this I wish I had the 6 not 4 ..... my engine sounds like a Kubota tractor. I shouldn't hate as I am pretty impressed with its performance and efficiency... and reliability since doing new timing chain kit etc. I have 167k and still running new like

Yes that steering wheel makes huge difference in the interior. N20 performs better than N52, but i prefer 6 cylinders in 5 series instead of 4 :)

@@МурадАхмедов-л9ф Its obvious, engine power is almost same, but torque is better for n20 and it peaks at the start of rpm, while n52 needs to build it. Manufacturer also states, that n20 is faster on fraction of second. But n52 is more reliable and sound is much better, also 6 cylinders suits 5er much better than 4 cyl engine.

How's the torque from low end?

Enough for comfortable ride. Lacks if you want to take off, needs to reach at least 3k rpm

@@testdrivespov On one hand, it's surprising for a big, torquey inline 6 engine to lack low end punch, especially the N52. On the other hand, the BMW 5 series is a 1.8 ton car

@@GamingHistory. it probably depends on person by person. It really drives good as premium saloon, comfortable, smooth. But comparing with these days where mostly turbocharged vehicles, it really lacks low end punch. If you want to get a little bit more agressive you need to kick it and then it goes. But any more powerfull tdi can gap it easilly :) but this vehicle not meant for race, so it all good. I really enjoy its ride as a daily commuter

Max torque comes on early in the rev range that's the beauty of BMW's engineering because it's only a 3L displacement in a 1.8t car. Most of time they are quite lethargic because of deliberate software programming, sport mode is for aggressive driving where you can feel the pull all the way to redline.
