2011 Buick Regal Shifter Knob Replacement

You can find a new shifter in eBay or Amazon.
I used this: smile.amazon.c...
My only complaint is it's a bit closer to brown rather than black.
As far as getting the old knob off, I had to use a bit of force and break the plastic chrome piece. Don't be scared, just do it because I have zero clue how to get it off any other way. You're most likely going to be throwing the old part out.

Two years later and this video is still saving lives lol. Thanks for this. My mom got her purse strap caught on it and yanked the silver piece out somehow 🤦🏾‍♀️ I had to use a pair of tweezers to push the little black piece down everytime I needed to shift gears smh. I'm about to make an 800+ mile trip and didn't want to be fooling with the gear shift the whole way. Good as new thanks to you bud 👍🏽

Thanks for the video. My 2011 Buick Regal’s shifter knob started looking pretty raggedy, so I followed your instructions but stop shy of chipping away the plastic. I squeezed on the trigger, pulled upward and it came right off. Push the new knob I got off Amazon for $13.99 + tax downwards with a little force and it was on. Then I noticed it wouldn’t go into Park, so I pushed downwards a bit harder and it popped into place and works like a dream. The whole job took maybe 20 minutes. Thanks for your help!

Thanks for this video. I have a 2012 buick verano and did not want to spend a bunch of money to replace shifter. I was able to pull off the orginal shifter without breaking anything. Once I disconnected the clip tie, I pulled up and to the left a little on the shifter. It was a little hard but after a couple of tries it came off cleanly. I was so glad to save some money.

Thank you so much for this. I replaced the factory original on my 2013 with an ebay part in 2018 without too much struggle on the removal process. But this year, with the replacement part starting to fall apart, I tried pulling it off with all my strength and couldn't. Removing the metal c-clip was the key. Note: I had better luck breaking the collar by prying with a screwdriver from the top by inserting between shaft and collar instead than going at it with snips. The plastic fractured easily.

I just looked. I believe the process will be the same. The shifter also looks the same. Search Amazon for "2013 Buick verano shifter." It may say it's for Opel Insignia. (That's what the regal is called in Europe). To answer your question, YES! Order away. It's not a very difficult process. I am no handy man, but was able to do it. You got this! Good luck!

Go on Amazon and search "2011 Buick regal shifter" Select the second one down, once you click it, it will say in the description "this fits your 2011 Buick regal" Pretty simple and shouldn't be too confusing, but I completely understand where your coming from. The brand or description in title is "X AUTOHAUX"

The issue here is that the little black slider that u have to push in to shift to drive has gotten stuck, so all you have to do to shift to park is to dislodge or remove that piece.

@@LuisLopez-sg3td so there is the silver button that you normally press to shift the vehicle right? Well that silver button is attached to a black plastic piece that is the piece that actually slides into the knob pressing an internal button. You need to slide that piece into the knob and hit that internal button to shift the vehicle. Or conversely if it is stuck in place you need to remove it.

You should still be able to shift into gear with the handle off. I can't remember but I think that black piece that sticks out can be pulled out. Hopefully you got it figured out by now!
