This is the game that Cutler broke his thumb chasing someone after an INT and it derailed the season. Bears were on a roll up until that point.

What a big difference without him even then and still till this day. Imagine if he never broke his thumb and had better protection and receivers??? Fun (not that fun) fact: Kurt Warner sustained the same broken thumb from his throwing hand, had surgery as well but mentioned that after that he never was able to grip the ball like before, that he lost feeling and was never the same. You can tell in some images from this game after Jay tacle the guy, you can see he was pissed because he knew something was wrong. He started to bite his finger to try to feel something. Check 1:46:09 then when he bites his thumb at 1:46:30 and worried/pissed at 1:47:17

Chino Rojas Wow. Thanks for the timestamps because I was watching this game live and didn’t realize it at the time. Very disappointing turn of the season. Caleb Hanie didn’t do much in Cutler’s absence and neither did 3rd stringer Jason Campbell.

One of Cutler‘s best games. He was in the conversation for MVP this year. This would’ve been one of the Bears best years if he finished healthy. this is the biggest shames of the Cutler/Urlacher era. So many what ifs!

This game was a heart breaker. This Bears team was rolling with the #2 scoring offense and a defense that suddenly came alive with the additions of Stephen Paea & Chris Conte in starting roles..Once Cutler went down they were basically screwed with Martz refusing to run the Ball. If this Bears team doesnt lose Cutler, Knox, Forte I think they would have ended up better than the 2010 team. Oh yeah one more thing FK MAJOR WRIGHT...

Yeah his injury was heartbreaking, bears were headed for a really good season. Cutler was actually having a really good start to his season. Injuries always change things .

12-4 or 11-5 for sure. I remember not knowing or hearing anything about Cutler's injury until I saw Mike Florio on SNF pregame. Cutler and the offense were on a roll in that 5 game winning streak. Averaging 30 pts in that span. People wanted Caleb Hanie and they got him. Went from 7-3 to 7-7 then Lovie finally put Josh McCown in. He was way more serviceable than Caleb.

Cutler was balling out up until that injury he suffered in this game the bears offense was never the same after this and also lovie smith should’ve never been let go , he should still be coaching the bears and C. Tillman never got the roses he deserves he’s the reason a lot of the players today punch at the ball he really was the strip punch fumble and one last thing J. Knox was a good Wr with potential & promise career was cut short due to injury

The Bears were the hottest team in the league at this point. I’m convinced they win the super bowl if not for Knox falling down on that play. Cutty should have just let the defender score. It wouldn’t have made a difference in the outcome of this game.
