IDK, Dan - the through hull exhausts are simply bad ass. I have a 28' 2014 with twin 6.2l 430hp Volvo Pentas and it simply demands attention and admiration. Love the boat. You should try helming standing up a bit. It's much better IMO. Also, I think you were babying the girl, that boat will slice through chop like you were in like butter ready to be spread on some nice French bread. Did you engage the auto trim? Maybe your model doesn't have it. I have IPS drives and the joystick control, so slick. Literally anyone can drive it after a short lesson and you can simply single hand the boat also. Anyway, I hope you sold it for a good price.

Hi Dan, love the boat, timeless classic! How suitable would you say is a Corsair 28 for use at sea and choppy waters? Do you have to make compromises and maybe more suitable for a lake or river?

Growing up my dad had a Corsair 28 and we used it in the San Francisco Bay. The switch that allows you to open the exhaust baffles was awesome. In choppy waters it was rough. A lot of times we’d be in the small closed cabin cause you would get soaked. On a nice day it was a great at 30 knots I think it’s fairly large for a lake and slightly small for rough waters. My dad always wished he got the Corsair 36. Also the thing was extremely unreliable but beautiful. For a lake I would get the open bow Corsair 25. Ours was blue with the red stripe. Wish we used it more but the weather conditions in the sf bay just didn’t allow for it. Hope this helps.
