My dad's friend who grew up in Pittsburgh and adores the Steelers wanted them to draft Gabe so bad. He said that he was never more mad at a draft pick when they ended up drafting heyward instead of trading up. Fast forward to 2015, and he and my dad are sitting in the first row in Cincinnati behind the Steelers bench. My dad's friend started yelling at heyward saying he sucked and that he didn't deserve to be a first round pick... Heyward looked back and pointed to him. Soon after that heyward started to ball. I think that's just a cool ass story.

Call it a miss but Derek Sherrod basically suffered a career ending leg injury his rookie season. Took almost two years for him to get back on the field and he was not the same guy. Feels worth mentioning otherwise it sounds like he was just a terrible player instead of someone who didn't get his shot.

It's a miss if you don't get anything out of the pick.

All of the top 7 (and 9 of the top 11) picks in this draft have had at least one All-Pro season? That’s insane.

How is Catonzo not a "Hit?" He was a good to very good starting LT for a decade. He singlehandedly carried the Colts O-line until they drafted Ryan Kelly, Quinton Nelson and Brandon Smith

I know Jimmy Smith isn’t a star, but if you draft a player in the 1st who becomes a defensive starter for the next 11 years, surely that’s a hit?

As a colts fan, Anthony Castonzo was a major hit for us.

Man, this draft was ELEVEN years ago. Doesn’t seem right. As an Eagles fan, I feel like this year’s miss really stings- it could’ve changed the dynamic of that year. I’m happy Watkins found his true calling as a Fireman, though.

Nearly half the first round were hits. One of the best classes ever.
