My bad, I should've said worse playoff loss. He played worse playoff games, but the 2010 loss was the most brutal. They had the best record in the league, Brady was MVP, they were at home against a hated division rival, and still got stomped. And it was right after a bad loss in 2009 too. It was arguably the lowest point in Brady's career.

As a Broncos fan, I’ll never get over SB48. I knew the game was over after the safety. Seattle was all around better coached, better prepared, and faster and physical. While Peyton deserves much of the blame, his o-line was atrocious, and the receivers couldn’t get separation. Their defense was horrid, and it didn’t help that Von Miller, Derek Wolfe, and Chris Harris Jr. were out. The 2014 regular season match up between these two teams is what I imagined the Super Bowl would have been. Seattle’s defense was a different animal in 2013, and in 2014 they were great too. One reason New England beat them (aside from the worst play call in SB history) was because Earl Thomas and Richard Sherman were injured going into that game AND Jeremy Lane went down early. Had they all been healthy, I think Seattle would have won by at least 10. I hated New England, BUT one thing that made them better than most teams was mental toughness. They could out will almost anyone. That comes down to coaching too. I’m a Manning fan, but Brady is the undisputed GOAT and it was a privilege to watch both of them.

@@adam72788 Classy comment. Ever since Brady retired, kinda felt like a part of me retired cuz I grew up watching that legendary Brady/Manning rivalry along with Brees, Big Ben, Rivers, and Eli Manning. In regards to that "mental toughness" you mentioned, you're right. After that boneheaded safety, you noticed the intimidation factor by Seattle onto the Broncos. You noticed in SB 49 the Seahawks tried to intimidate the Patriots but they couldn't succeed in that. My other issue is that yeah, they were injured, but I felt like the Seahawks offense after it went up 10, it went to sleep which idk why they played so conservative after a 24-14 lead.
@adam727882 жыл бұрын
@Brian Chua Yeah man, it’s absolutely an end of an era. After Manning retired I still rooted against Brady, and then I just couldn’t anymore. You’ve got to appreciate once in a generation competitiveness, and I was so bummed he retired. I know his family took priority, but he could of easily played at a high level for another 3-5 years. It’s insane. 7/10 Super Bowls and playing in 14 championship games??? Everyone comparing Mahomes and now Burrow to Brady…..it’s like “calm the f*ck down!” haha. I firmly believe the closest to Brady was Montana and Manning. Montana going 4-0 in Super Bowls and Manning taking 4 different head coaches to them. Another reason why Manning struggled against Seattle was because of his neck injury. When he came to Denver he had to totally retool his throwing mechanics in that he used much more of his lower body to generate velocity for his passes. Most of his arm strength was gone due to the injury and surgery. Until meeting Seattle he was able to get away with it, but Seattle was just too fast. Pre-neck injury Manning would have fared much better I think. I’ll never question Manning’s competitiveness because it was close to Brady’s but not quite. The issue was he was a perfectionist and it worked against him in the playoffs because he put way too much pressure on himself in big games. He had the “It” factor, but not nearly on the level of Brady. Well, no one had it like Brady…..no one. Seattle got a little conservative, but New England also made adjustments. That whole week New England’s defense practiced for a QB scrambling, like Russell Wilson. I guarantee Denver never did that. It’s also like in SB52 when the Falcons got conservative. The Eagles were the only ones that were truly aggressive and didn’t take their foot off the pedal, and that’s how you had to play New England.

I think if Carson Wentz didn't suffer his season ending injury in 2017 he would have won the league MVP and probably would have won the Super Bowl as well. I mean granted maybe he wouldn't have performed as well on the postseason as his backup Nick foles did, but the eagles as a whole were just so dominant that year that I could have seen them win with him and he would have broke that streak. Honestly I'm surprised that Drew Brees despite how amazing he was with the saints had never won a league mvp. I feel like he had to at least be the runner-up multiple times.

I think the MVP is like a regular season award for necessity. The MVP is a typically the focal point of a team(mostly a qb award). Usually they're statistical outliers because they have to be. By the time the post season rolls around the leagues got tons of film to study. Then you have to win at least 3 games in a row to win to the Super Bowl. Unless their damn near perfect and lucky it's a very tall task.
