This is the only video that addressed my issue. I put over a 1000.00 dollars worth of parts and labor into my fiesta from a new entire Evap system Also purge valve, charcoal canister and several relays and a new battery because the old battery that was 1 yr old kept draining that didn’t fix the starting issue. I cleaned the grounds and haven’t had any problems. Before you donate your money to any mechanic clean these first you could save a lot of money.

this has been my problem since months already. delayed start, sometimes okay, but after driving far or near, when you get back to the car to start it delays, sometimes it takes 10x attempt or more then it finally starts, and your car starts smelling like gasoline inside. headache. i will try this bro. thanks for sharing.

I have a 2013 and the ground wire is causing all the issues. I asked to have it changed but I don't think it was. I also had the tcm replaced (for free under extended warranty), new alternator and battery. It worked fine for a week then started acting up again. It's not even at 90k miles yet. Better yet, can't trade it in until I pay off half😡

So my 2012 Fiesta just doesnt want to start at times, not trying to fast start it, I got told it was wheel lock and i usually just kinda fiddle with the steering wheel until it starts up, but its been happening for nearly the whole time ive had the car which is almost half a year.

2011 fiesta has the same issue. The dash would be flashing lights like a disco. And it would not start. I'll try this. Cheers

I have a good one. 2017 Ford Feista. All the sudden it just turns over and wont start and when you when the key goes backnin accessory mode the starter continues to turn 4 or 5 times, replaced the starter and ingnition switch and it still doesn't start and the starter continues to turn 4 or 5 times

Man I’m glad other Ford Fiesta users are having the same issues. This car is complete and utter garbage. Trade it in immediately! It will eat up your wallet in no time, trust me.

I’m having the same issue! I replaces starter $230 I replaced the negative battery cable $75, replaced 3 relays one for ignition one for starter and another one for the ecm. That was about $60. Also lost time at work went to lunch wouldn’t start for well over an hr. Starts fine cold but when I drive it and turn off and go to start again nothing. Oh the battery is good and also would not start with jumpers on it. So WTF! I also added another ground similar to what you did. It didn’t solve the issue. I’m stumped

@@namjaroh1745 try the TCM (Transmission Control Module) I bet that’s the issue. It was on my 2013 Ford Focus traded it in after I got a TCM from Junk Yard

Check the TCM it’s a junk design. I went to junk yard put a Transmisson Control Module in and drive it to the first dealer that got me out of the car.

Check the ground wire from the starter motor to the car bodywork.

@@danw1374 I done that , gave it a clean with sand paper :) replaced starter switch, starter motor . Was ok for a few months ....now I keep getting transmition fail notification after driving for 20mins , it's only done 20,000 miles 😂 absolute nightmare of a car .

@@tinydancer9602 You might need to clear the code from your ECU. Assuming your car drives fine. If the code keeps showing plug a diagnostic reader into the port and manually reset it.

@@danw1374 unfortunately it drives terrible :( it's an automatic and sticks in 3rd gear . I have to manually move it from third to fourth and it sticks causing it to rev really high and it lurches the car forward a lot as it's trying to change the gear. It needs throwing in the bin tbh 😂

Sam I have a 2011 sel with keyless. Mine will not let me shift into neutral and try to start. Sometimes leaving battery disconnected for an hour has worked but twice it didn't. I've grounded it but it seems intermittent . Randomly glitches and doesn't want to start then works for a week or 2 then acts up again. Anywhere from 20min to a day and a half , it will refused to release the shifter/or start
