Thank you, Leo! I bought my nearly new grinder at the Habitat ReStore for $25., but when I tried to use it, it wouldn't start. I took it back to hopefully return it but without a receipt, they would not and tossed it in the trash. Determined to fix it, I asked for it back, brought it home and found you! It works now! it was pretty clean with only a little bit of powdered coffee around that hole. I used a sharp knife and Q-tips. I did laugh out loud at your comments after dragging the plug through the sink.

Used this video for my repair after watching several others. . If you are along side a highway with no lift/ jackstands/ or jack and only have a cheap set of metric sockets THIS is the way to go. Once you know what your feeling around for this method works.

I'm pretty sure those are the camshaft sensors. I've seen multiple videos saying that. Here's how I figured this out. There are 2 camshaft sensors and 1 crankshaft sensor. The camshaft sensors will be near the airfilter box side. Front one is the intake and the one in the video is the exhaust. I'm not 100% on the cranks location but from what I read it should be on the passenger side behind the engine block near the transmission and you can only access it from below the vehicle or by removing the right front tire and siding. It had me stumped all day long because of this video saying this was a crankshaft sensor. Basically my 2016 jeep would randomly stall and die then refuse to start back up for 5 or 6 key cycles and then would try and stall out when accelerating. Another thing it would do is check engine light and traction light came on and stayed on. When trying to start the jeep the key would stay in the on position and keep trying to turn over on its own till I removed the key. I unintentionally replaced both cam sensors thinking one was crank and now that I realize that it makes sense why there's no change in performance and infact it's worse now because the cam sensors need to be reprogrammed and as far as I can tell there's only 2 ways. With a computer and the other removing both battery cables and away from batter place the cables together for hours or over night but that one isn't 100%. This one video really fucked me.

In the video, he’s on the rear firewall next to the transmission.. like you explained. Just not passenger side. The transmission is on the driver side

Thank you. It didn’t work but you pointed me in the right direction. After the butter knife cleaning I took a compressed can of air for computers to the (emptied) top and a lot of stuff shot right back at my face. Scared myself. It works now.

Long shot for a reply since this was posted more than decade ago but why will I need to adjust the throttle screw when adjusting the timing? This video helped made the cloud of white smoke and rough idle for my 6.2 diesel on cold start disappear 100%. Thank you!

Leo, you are my Knight in Shining Armor! I received a Cuisinart coffee grinder for free off of a website called Buy Nothing. It sat on my counter unplugged for some time while I used up my pre-ground coffee and K-pods. Today, I was so excited to grind fresh beans for my pour-over coffee, but was so disappointed when nothing happened. I even thought my wall outlet was not working so tried a different one. I found this short but sweet video and had to laugh out loud as myself. The word "Start" on my gifted grinder is in black so I didn't see, despite having cleaned every onch of the machine I could get to. Sure enough, it works great when I push the Start bar. And it stopped after grinding the pre-selected number of cups. I did forget one step though. I have been reading up on grinding coffee beans and learned if you sprinkle or mist just a little bit of water on the beans in the grinder and then grind, it eliminates the static ele tricity that causes all the coffee dust that overs the inside of the container where your coffee grounds go. I will try that next time. One other hint I learned a long time ago: Add just a pinch of salt to your coffee grounds before brewing. But again, thank you Leo! I thought I was going to have to toss this free grinder ("you get what you pay for"), but no, it works great. ☕

If you want to stop the grinder while it's grinding, simply slide the duration selector all the way to the left. Stop.

Thanks sooooo much for the simple go through. By following your simple comments (as in "if you want it to start...") I realized that I needed to reassemble it after I cleaned it. So simple, but when one is working with muscle memory it is easy to skip an essential step. I at least had figured out how to unscrew the top where the beans go so I could give it a good cleaning with a combo of a pastry brush and my nails. Now I sit here with a big grin on my face, feeling totally brilliant and talented, and looking forward to a fresh cup of coffee (or pot which it has been grinding well as long as the sticks are out!). So kudos to you and thanks for making me look good!!!
