Great video. Thanks for the free tutorial. Question: Is there a separate designation for the inner and outer pad fitment on the caliper bracket? Or is it either way (inner or outer vise versa)?
@gearmored16057 жыл бұрын
Chris O I belive its either way. If the pad has a metal tab (squeak sensor) then i usually put those on the inside. Hope this helps!

+Chris O what did you mean by fitment?

Gearmo Auto I was wondering if it mattered what side of the rotor the pads went on : of the 2 pads, is there one that says inward and one outward of the rotor? I asked because after having changed rotors and ceramic pads, I was having some grind noise when parked, while foot on brake pedal and turning wheel hard right and hard left. After driving some more miles (100miles) though, it seems to have stopped. It was my first brake job.

No need to bleed the brakes?

Do you not have to rotate the piston back in? I did the rear brakes and the piston had to be rotated with a special tool. Are the front pistons different in that you don't need to spin them?

Did you ever figure this out I have the same question.

Rear spin and compress back in clockwise. Front no spin just compress

So the front is not like the rear with the stupid spin and push piston ????
@GEARMOAUTO3 жыл бұрын
Right. The spin style pistons are always on the back. The reason is because the spin caliper is also the ebrake
